Good 47º clear morning. Up earlier for a change.
Yesterday started out nice, but by 1pm it was 87º, by 2pm 90º, by 3pm 95º
...
When it was 90º here, in Diamond Bar, So Cal it was 107º!!!
Yesterday I read that Martin Milner, star of Route 66 and Adam 12, died on
Monday. He was 83.
George Maharis and Milner Route 66:
Kent McCord and Milner Adam 12:
Breakfast.... melon and Egg-Tastic eggs... two, not scrambled, with bacon
salt... Perfect! (Find that bacon salt yet, Gator?)
I was in the back of the house when I saw what appeared to be a deer way up
on my neighbor's property. Then thought, it really doesn't look like a deer, so
I ran to get my camera and long lens. Sure enough it was a young elk. Didn't get
enough pictures as it ran into the trees...
And on the tree stump in my upper pasture sat Mr. Ground Squirrel! PITA!
Ok, going to get AJ back out with more bait!
The Gabrielino Eagles Marching Regiment played at the San Gabriel Mission
(http://www.sangabrielmissionchurch.org/

) Fiesta on the 5th of September. For some reason the cords to ring one of the
Mission bells was hanging out and granddaughter Alex rang the bell!
Grandson Jack is one of the drummers in the band..... (right there in the
front middle!)
I was sitting at my desk writing my blog and Bruiser came in. He started
attacking my slippered feet under my desk! I slipped the slippers (!!) off and
he made himself comfy on top of them and took a nap!

Everyone famous Hollyweirdo should have at least one mug
shot in their repertoire.
Not much exciting haps here yesterday. Cleaned out a
kitchen shelf and tossed out stuff! Then I started the car electronically from
inside the house so it would cool off. Then Dude and I took a ride into town. I
had to mail off my RELAC dues and my quarterly Oregon estimated tax, and a
couple cards. Home again to a cool house. There was quite a bit of radar around
the area, and pressure was dropping. This was 3pm:
But no rain here! Dang.
Dinner:
I was in the
mood for a healthy pasta dish for dinner. I got out some stir-fry veggies, bow
tie pasta, gnocchi pasta, sharp cheddar cheese (because I didn't have any
Parmesan... this is close in taste), butter, garlic salt, and a tomato. I
decided against the gnocchi pasta and just used the bow tie.
So I
cooked the bow tie in Lawry's garlic salt laced water. 2-3 minutes before the
end of the cooking time I took the pot off the stove, added in the broccoli and
carrots and snow peas and let it sit 2-3 minutes
Then I poured
it all into the colander to drain, and then back into a pan with 1/2 a cube
melted butter. The other half cube of butter was melted in the micro and poured
over all and mixed in. Then I sprinkled on the grated sharp cheddar cheese and
mixed that in.
OMGOOOODNESS
this was GOOD!!!!!
Then it was chair time ... glass of wine, news, and a Hallmark movie, A
Taste of Romance:
Uptight French chef Sara Westbrook (Teri Polo) gets fired
up when her upscale café, Chez Varenne, is suddenly overshadowed by a new
restaurant moving in next door run by a group of rowdy firemen. Led by handsome
former fire fighter Gill Callahan (James Patrick Stuart) and his friend Danny
(Rockmond Dunbar), The Five Alarm Grill is soon a big success while Sara and
Patsy (Romy Rosemont), her pastry chef, struggle to bring in
customers.
Fun movie!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Hump Day... the day In-N-Out opens in Medford!
Ciao.

Teddy Bear Day
(This is basically what mine looked like. When I was born my Aunt Agnes
gave it to me. I kept him with me forever, but have looked for him in recent
years and have no idea what happened to him.)
Today is Teddy Bear
Day. A Teddy Bear is a special
friend to children all over the world. He's cuddly. He makes you feel secure in
an otherwise insecure world. He's lovable. Your Teddy Bear is both a companion
and a comforter. And, he's not afraid of the dark. He'll keep you safe.
Spend the day and night with your teddy bear . Cuddle up to him. Talk to
him. And, do all of your favorite things together.
Parents and adults: No child should grow up without a teddy bear. If you
know of any kid without one, use this day to buy a teddy bear for them.
As we become adults, some find it difficult to give up our teddy bears. We
feel there is no reason to give him up. Some adults have their teddy bears
around all their lives. Its perfectly normal....and okay.
Have a happy Teddy Bear
Day!
So.................. at the LASD reunion in Laughlin last year I bought
this guy... Deputy Teddy!
