Looking outside yesterday and here is Mr. Oriole...
This bird is a Bullock's Oriole (no, not named after Sandra or
the store Mother and I loved shopping in! Bullocks was by Pershing Square
Garage/Park. We loved the Tea Room.
Before 1954 when Mom and Dad got the DeSoto and we'd park in the Pershing
underground garage, we took the streetcar.) OK,
sidetracked....
It is a boldly colored medium-size bird. It characteristically
makes hanging nests in broadleafed trees and tall shrubs. In Oregon this bird is
rare to fairly common. It nests along rivers and farmland. Most widespread in
the southwest and northeast Oregon, and especially in Jackson County. (Taaaa
daaaa) This bird eats many insects.
I have found several of the 'hanging' type nests that blew out
of trees. This one has a 'fake' bird in it, hanging on a birdhouse Jennifer,
Brian's wife, gave me.
This old birdcage belonged to Jerry's mom and I have several
nests in it that I have found over the years.

Dinner last night was another "creation". I had some veggies in the fridge
that needed to be eaten... asparagus, green beans, and shredded carrots. I put
them in the frying pan with a little olive oil and some seasoning and stir fried
them.
Then I added in two cans of salmon. Heated well, put in crockpot on "warm".
Then stir fried some mushrooms...
I stirred it up and kept it warm until I was ready to eat.
OMGOOOOOD!!!!! Salmon Vegetable Casserole!
All I know. Happy Tuesday. Nuff said. Ciao.
