Good 50º hazy morning. The day yesterday for the most part was clear and
sunny. The winds came up in the afternoon, blew really hard for a while, and
blew all the smoke back into the valley.
Throw Back Thursday...
2006: Harry (Jen's dad), Neil (Brian and Jen's former neighbor), Jerry and
Tucker, and Brian. Sadly Harry, Neil, and Jerry have all passed away.
Breakfast:
A partial can of salmon, quinoa & artichoke/roasted pepper sauce, an
egg
Quinoa and sauce in a dish and then 45 seconds in the micro..
Salmon in the pan with some olive oil, make spot for egg, cook with lid
on...slowly
Plate egg/salmon on top of warmed quinoa.
PERFECT!
Talking about In-N-Out yesterday and I found their secret menu on
line...
Here is the protein lettuce wrapped burger... It's GOOD!

I ran "5 Miles" yesterday... LOL, I drove the golf cart and Dude ran to the
road with me (3/10ths of a mile there and 3/10ths back....) to dump trash and recycle cardboard. My friend Dan Patz (LASD ret)
gave me this magnetic LASD sticker, used by posse members on their horse trailers, for my golf cart:
My neighbors Cindy and Frank gave me a siren!
Trouble is I never run into any vehicles on our road to pull over!

3 rice cakes, one with provalone cheese and guacamole. The dessert ones ...
Chocolate Hazelnut spread, and one with the Sunflower Honey spread. Then a
Chelada....Budweiser & Clamato (con sal y limon ... la combination
perfecta!)
Mowed the front lawn and watered. Warmed by 1pm to 89º. Sweaty out there
mowing! By 1:30 it was 91º. 2pm it was 94º. 2:30 95º. 3pm 96º. 3:30 97º.

A guy and a girl each toss a coin into the wishing fountain at the same time and start
dreaming about each other, although they don't even know who the other
is... The young man designs a bridge for a contest and wins. I was thinking at
the time I wished I would have some more dreams about Jerry. Been a while. Well,
lo and behold, I had a dream about Jerry last night, he was the bridge designer,
and I wanted to take a picture of his drawing so I could show everyone! It was a
nice dream and we talked a lot to each other. I woke up with a smile on my face! Sigh..............

National Filet Mignon Day
The most
expensive cut of beef comes from the small end of the tenderloin, and accounts
for less than 1% of the entire carcass. Boneless, it is ideally 2-1/2 inches
thick (although it is sliced thinner) and 1-1/2 to 3 inches in diameter. The
tenderloin runs across the back of the steer. Because this area of the animal is not weight-bearing, the connective tissue
is not toughened by exercise. This results in extremely tender meat, the most
tender of all beef cuts. It is lightly marbled and mild flavored compared to
other cuts, and is best served rare to medium rare. The term “filet mignon” is a
French derivative, the literal meaning is small (mignon) boneless meat (filet).
On restaurant menus it is called filet mignon, tournedos, medallions, filet de
boeuf and tenderloin steak; in the U.K. it is called fillet steak. Chateaubriand is the
center, thickest cut from the tenderloin, and a specific
preparation.
Or as Jerry would call filet mignon... figgley miggley !!!
