Good 36º very dark and gloomy morning.
Some rain in the night, but not snow and not ice on the barn roof.
That 18 year old teen, Ethan Couch, who was given 10 years probation for
driving under the influence and killing 4 people and ran away with his mom, was
found in Mexico. The parents are NO GOOD ADAM HENRYS! Both arrested many times.
Millionaires.
One of my favorite shows on TV is Chicago Fire. I like Taylor Kinny, but
have NO IDEA what he sees in that Lady Gag! Yes, GAG! She turns my stomach....
They are engaged.
GAWD, those shoes! And the way she dresses in public, or should I say
'pubic'! You won't believe this story about her and her "wardrobe" !!!
While sitting here at my computer, Bruiser keeps and eye on me from atop
the base unit...
Yesterday I had a trip into Medford to my doc, Rachael Orozco.
She is SO nice and pretty and just all around great. I have been having
problems with my back for a few years. Had the Orthopedic Surgeon who did my
back surgery in 2008 X-ray it a few years ago and he said there is no problem
with the screws and rods holding up my L4 & L5.
So, I voiced concerns to my doctor yesterday, since I read that if there is
a problem with bladder, kidneys, etc. can cause pain. She tested my flexibility
and said it was GREAT! Then X-rays of the back. The tech called me back later
and said I have what is called Degenerative Disc Disease. Common as we
age.
So, when I need a walker I will have a wine holder installed on it!
Actually Dr. O has ordered therapy for my back. Will start that soon.
After the doc I went to Trader Joe's....
On the way I drove by the new In-N-Outand it was a struggle not to turn into the
line... but it was tooooo long with people even waiting outside to get inside!
So at TJ's I got a case of chardonnay wine, a
bottle of some Ocarossa Cuvée Rosso made in Italy
... red wine, Basmati Rice Medley (with
Basmati rice, wild rice, and garden herbs and vegetables...dehydrated carrots,
onions, celery, red ell peppers, garlic, parsley, mushrooms, leeks, and lemon
peel!)
Lastly a stop at the post office to pick up a package and Ray's Market for
chicken thighs. They had lobster tails on sale for $5.99 each but they were
soooooooooooo small. Two bites or maybe 3! No, pass.
And the drive home was pretty.. Then it got cold again and more rain.
Today is my neighbor's Frank and Cindy's 38th wedding anniversary. HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY kids!!! Thanks for being such GREAT neighbors!!!! ox

PEPPERPOT or PEPPER POT SOUP DAY
Pepperpot soup, also made in a
thicker stew version, is a hearty beef and potato soup (originally beef tripe
was used). The soup includes onions, bell peppers, other vegetables selected by
the cook, and ground black pepper. Two U.S. presidents—George Washington and
FDR—chose pepper pot as their most requested soup recipe. One story says that the soup was created from inexpensive
ingredients during the Revolutionary War to feed the starving Continental Army.
It is also called Philadelphia Pepper Pot Soup after an early 19th century
painting by John Lewis Krimmel titled Pepper-Pot: A Scene in the Philadelphia
Market. The painting depicts a street vendor selling the soup.
