Weather ~ Medford In The Rain ~ Tortellini w/ Asparagus & Lemon ~ Dee Yellin ~ Laura & Conrad ~ My Tortellini Recipe ~ Limericks

Good 43ยบ cloudy morning.

Maybe rain... got a few sprinkles yesterday... predictions for the whole week:

First thing yesterday it was off to Medford to have my yearly boobie smash at Women's Imaging next to Rogue Valley Medical Center. The nurses who work there are sooooooooooo nice. They make it easier.

I was going to go to Harry and David's and to Trader Joe's, but not in the mood, so headed back. It rained enough to get the car spotty and take care of the last car wash!

Decided to stop at Safeway in Grants Pass
... for some asparagus, cheese tortellini, a couple lemons, dog food, canned artichoke hearts, and a couple other things.

Yesterday was Eat What You Want Day and I said I'd like an artichoke, asparagus, and pasta. Then Taste of Home comes up with this recipe....

Today is a special birthday... my pal Dee Yellin (wife of LASD SEB SRMotors ret Dale) HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLFRIEND!!! ♥♥  Lunch SOON!!! You pick where! We'll get the girls together!

I finally cut the grapefruit Kristen gave me when I was down there in Covina re the Laughlin trip. It came off her tree. I kept it out waiting for it to mature. Cut it open and OMGOOOOD!!!! Gobble gobble. Thanks Tootie!!!! xoxoox

So, dinner was cheese tortellini, sauteรฉd asparagus and butter fried artichoke hearts with jalapeรฑo olive oil, with a lemony sauce (1 lemon zested and the juice), fresh chives, and Feta cheese. Basically like the recipe above, but with artichoke hearts.... more vegetables and less pasta.

Dave came up to brush hog last evening after he got off work. Bout an hour's worth when he got a flat tire on the tractor. There sits the tractor until he can get it fixed....

Limerick Day
Limerick Day celebrates the birthday of Writer Edward Lear (1812-1888).  It also, of course, celebrates Limerick poems. Limericks were popularized by Lear in 1846 in his Book of Nonsense".
This day is a time to enjoy and get your fill of Limerick poems. We are so glad that it came along to brighten up our lives. Celebrate Limerick Day in style by writing a Limerick or two of your own. Or, sit down and read a few humorous Limericks. They are guaranteed to make you smile.
A Limerick is a humorous verse or poem. It is five lines longs. It's name come from the city of Limerick, Ireland. The first two lines rhyme with the fifth line rhyme.  The third and fourth lines rhyme.
Did you know? Limerick is the third largest city in Ireland.
There was a big loveable dog named Dude.
If there was one thing he loved, it was his food.
Bruiser would not stay away
As he always wanted to play
But Dude was never in the mood!

There was a nutty tuxeudo cat named The Bruise
He was sometimes wound up like a fuse
He climbed all the trees
And loved Dude to tease
But boy did he love Mom's lap for a snooze!
