Flags ~ Local Beeeootch! ~ Carnage ~ Spinach Pesto

Good 33ยบ clear morning. Hopefully a nice 'outdoor' day.

Yesterday I got my new flags up.... finally!
God Bless America! God Bless the Marine Corps!
God help us all!

On Tuesday I left the Bohemian where I had lunch with the girls and stopped to drop a prescription at my pharmacy in RR. Leaving there, a woman was walking along and made a sudden right turn towards the car lane where I was driving. She never looked up. She was far enough away so I just continued on... as I passed her she screamed at me, "STOP!" I rolled down the passenger side window and said, "What? You think you're at f**king Disneyland?" I know. But idiots think everyone should pay attention to what they are doing and they don't have to be accountable and they all think whatever they do they have the right of way! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Then she yelled..."BITCH! And your big black truck!" LOL. I said back, "And your shoes are ugly!" (She was 30-ish, really heavy, and had on bright pink tennis shoes.)

Then she just stepped right off the curb immediately in front of moving traffic!! Two cars had to quickly stop and sit and wait for her to cross in front of them. No crosswalk there! She needed a citation, big time! And an attitude adjustment! I'm still smiling. That was fun!

Every day the news is bad...

Boston carnage and now loss of life in Texas from the explosion. Seems like our soldiers are being killed every day too. I'm becoming like a lot of people I know, I don't want to know! Just sent a donation to the Red Cross and one to DAV! And can you believe, some 'group' is angry that the suspect in the Boston bombings was described as "dark skinned"! Geeeeeeeze people. What if he had been "pale white" or "Asian looking" or ...... ???? How do you describe someone so the police can look for him? "Oh, it was a man." Well gee whiz, shouldn't men get mad about that. "Oh pardon me, it was a person". Duh. Ok, off the box.......

Yesterday afternoon I made pesto. I had a bag of spinach that was reaching it's prime so I made spinach pesto!

Brown the pine nuts in a dry pan on the stove. Peel a bunch of cloves of garlic and put that and pine nuts in food processor. Add spinach (pack it in) and a good amount of Parmesan cheese and a pinch of sea salt. Turn on processor and pour a thin steady stream of olive oil in until it's the consistency you like. Got that done and some of the pesto in zip freezer bags and put in freezer. Then made a ham and pesto sandwich on a cheese roll..... OINK!

I had a note yesterday from a friend who said that 4-17 was "Jerry's Day" .... yes. He was the gunsmith extraordinaire ! AND my snivel for the day (yes, Billy Boy....SNIVEL!) that nobody mentioned the funny from yesterday's blog.... "cross hares"!!!
:o(

All I know. Happy Thursday. Nuff said. Ciao.

National Animal Crackers Day

National Animal Crackers Day celebrates a truly fun food. When you were a kid, did you eat the trunks off the elephants first? Or the heads and necks of the giraffes? However you made your animal bites, these lightly sweetened crackers (cookies, really) have been delighting
