Rainbow ~ Clouds ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Bizarre Fruits & Vegetables ~ Bacon Egg Macaroni Salad ~ Bruiser ~ Dude's Mani Pedi ~ Popcorn Lover's Day

Good 39Âș drizzling morning.

I looked out and low and behold a rainbow over my mountain!!!

Yesterday afternoon the clouds were interesting....
Happy Throw Back Thursday...
Thanksgiving at my house 1989 with Kristen, Brian, me, and my Dad:
Yesterday, again, I worked on my taxes. Sheeeesh........... It stayed dark and cloudy gloomy....

Here are some bizarre fruits and vegetables..... a bear potato, Buzz Lightyear carrot, chicken strawberry, and a Mickey Mouse strawberry!

Do you like bacon? (ha ha ha... if not, this recipe is not for you!)
This recipe from Mr. Food....
Bacon Egg Macaroni Salad
  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 8 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion (I like shallots better!)
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  1. In a large pot of boiling water, cook macaroni over high heat 7 to 9 minutes, or just until tender. Drain, rinse, and let cool.
  2. Place macaroni in a large bowl, add remaining ingredients, and mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.

Of course when I work on anything on my desk, Bruiser has to be in the middle of it. I set the paperwork on my printer (covered with a towel because Bruiser likes to lay up there) and he napped on top of the files!

National Popcorn Lovers Day (YES!!)

Date When Celebrated : Second Thursday in March

Many of us love popcorn. So, it only makes sense that there should be a special day just for popcorn lovers.
Popcorn is good for you, when eaten plain. It is not as healthy, when it's loaded with salt and butter.
This day is intended to enjoy popcorn and share it with others. Bring some to work. Or microwave some and put in in a basket in your office.
You can have it in a traditional way, with salt and butter. Or, you can add anyone of a number of flavors to it. Some popular flavors are cheddar cheese, Parmesan garlic, and even hot pepper! There is no requirement as what seasoning to use today, as long as your eat plenty popcorn. Now, that's not hard to do, is it!?

Origin of Popcorn Lovers Day:
This day was created on January 6, 2012, by Bob Matthews of Rochester, NY. It is Bob's favorite snack. He and his wife have it on most Thursdays, all year long. Bob is also an avid gardener. He has grown and dried popcorn for popping.

I love mine with butter, garlic salt, and cheese!!! OINK OINK!
