Some awesome news...

Grants Pass, Ore. — In-N-Out is now officially planning to expand to Grants Pass, according to the Grants Pass Daily Courier. The news comes three months after the popular chain opened its first Oregon location in Medford.
It’s been rumored for months but it appears it’s official – Grants Pass will be getting an In-N-Out restaurant at some point. The Grants Pass Daily Courier says tax records show In-N-Out is now the owner of a former Shell Gas station site in the city located on Northeast Morgan Lane.
^Morgan Lane and 7th St at the southbound I-5 on ramp.
The popular burger chain opened Oregon’s first location in Medford last September.
For us here in RR and GP that is over a 50 mile round trip.

PICTURE OF THE DAY:
    Albino squirrel ... interesting!

Yesterday laundry, dishes, filling bird feeders, and a trip into RR for a deer block at Ace and chicken thighs at Rays. Dude was happy for a ride... I unlock the car and open the back end and he's in there quicker than anything! "Ok mom, I'm ready!"

Was going to vacuum and mop, but that was just not what I wanted to do! Maybe today.

By 3:30 it was looking like rain soon... looks about like that now..

My friend Joan Knoeppel shared this on my FB page. I bought one! Hope it gets here soon!

Dinner was a concoction I was not all that happy with. Will modify it today and see what I can come up with.

Then chair, fire in wood stove, wine, TV... nice.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

St. Nicholas Day

Yes, there really was a Christian Saint Nicholas. He lived in the country of Greece, just a couple hundred years after the birth of Christ. This day is in honor of Saint Nicholas and his life.

Saint Nicholas became a priest, and later, a Bishop of the early Catholic Church. True to the Christian concept of giving up belongings and following Christ, St. Nicholas gave up all of his belongings. He was well known for giving to needy people, especially children. There are may stories and tales of him helping out children in need.

The practice of hanging up stockings originated with Saint Nicholas. As the ancient legend goes, Saint Nicholas was known to throw small bags of gold coins into the open windows of poor homes. After one bag of gold fell into the stocking of a child, news got around. Children soon began hanging their stocking by their chimneys "in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there".

It wasn't until the 1800's that the spirit of St. Nicholas' life evolved into the creation of Santa Claus. And, this happened in America. Santa Claus emerged (or evolved) from the stories and legends of St. Nicholas. Santa Claus was kind and generous to children. Unlike "St. Nick", Santa Claus is largely a non-religious character.
