Good 26º everything frozen morning.
Yesterday the clouds moved in then periodically the sun peeked through,
then the clouds started moving away bit by bit...
We topped out at 55º.
Talk about GOOD and easy....
Cheesy Crock Pot Chicken
The original recipe calls for chicken breasts. Personally I
like the boneless skinless chicken thighs. Darker meat and more tender. (I cook
them all the time in organic chicken stock for Dude's breakfast)
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
or 6-10 thighs
Garlic powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
2 10.75oz cans cream of chicken soup
1 10.75 oz can cheddar soup
Cooked rice or noodles
1. Layer the chicken in the bottom of your crock
pot
2. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper (I use
Lawry's Garlic salt and pepper if cooking for me)
3. Mix together cream of chicken soups and the cheese soup and
pour over the chicken.
4. Cover and cook on low 7-8 hours high for 4
hours
5. Serve on a bed of rice or noodles.
A special anniversary today, school pal John Berokoff and his
bride Tanya are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary! Happy Anniversary

National Maple Syrup Day
National Maple Syrup Day provides us with the opportunity to enjoy
and appreciate this delicious American treat. This sweet and unique flavor
originated in America. Native American Indians were the first to harvest and
boil the sap of the maple tree into a thick syrup.
Watching or participating in a maple sap harvest, or demonstration, is a
fun late winter event. They are held in February-March, when the sap is flowing.
It is educational for the kids, too. During field demonstrations, some of the
sap is boiled down into syrup. Best of all, free samples are often giving,
poured over a pancake or vanilla ice cream.
Did you know? Sap of the
maple tree, the same sap used to make maple syrup, makes a refreshing drink.
Just put it in the refrigerator and pour a drink whenever you want. Or, have a
drink as you harvest the sap from the tree!
How do you participate in National Maple Syrup Day? Pour real maple syrup onto your pancakes or
waffles. Or, for an evening treat, pour warm maple syrup onto vanilla ice
cream.
Please note, make sure you are using maple syrup, not pancake syrup. Unless
the ingredients state otherwise, pancake syrup no longer contains maple syrup.(a
surprise to
many)
