Good 48º clear morning.
Still a tad cooler.... clear skies and smoke moved in about noon.
Noon it was only 80º. We topped at 91º.
I signed up for
an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing.
If I HAD any
loose fitting clothing, I wouldn’t have signed up in the first
place!

Yesterday was just a lazy day... feed the birds, water the
grass, did dishes, and some laundry. Just typically over the top
excitement here.
Breakfast was two eggs cooked in the microwave
and topped with Parmesan, then set atop whole wheat English
muffin....
that had been slathered with Pomegranate mayo...
REALLY good!!
The tree trimmers for Pacific Power came by to check for trees
interfearing with the electrical lines... and found a couple trees to
trim....
They have a fire rig come along too. It was fired up and all the ground
under and around the big truck was wet down.
Ha ha ha.... see the trimmer's helmet:
While I sat on the porch watching, Bruiser took a nap inside my slippers!
Then the trimmers went out back by my greenhouse...
Three really nice guys. Good job.

National Rum Day
When we had a sales meeting in Jamacia with Fabergé and spouses of our
sales force got to go also, Jerry and I toured the Appleton Rum Estate. Very
interesting, except they served rum on the way back to all on the bus and
omgoodness, some napped for a long time after that!!! LOL.
Here are today’s five thing to know about Rum
- Rum was manufactured, distilled, and made long before any other spirit. It’s history is a vast one filled with stories, and fables. It was the first branded spirit made.
- Rations of rum were given to sailors in the British Army to be mixed with lime juice because it fought off the scurvy.
- When wealthy titles were given to parsons, they were thanked with a glass of rum.
- In Australia, the rum hospital can recognize rum as it as its chief contributor of revenues that were generated via the rum exports they were known for.
- Triangular trade was introduced as slaves were traded for rum, sugars, and other items that were all carrying missionaries- this was known as ‘rum and bible.’
