Gloom/Clouds/Rain ~ Budweiser Commercial ~ Rob & Laura Wilkinson ~ Charlean Allen ~ Rice/Clam Concoction

Good cloudy 46º morning.

Good grief, not only gloomy yesterday (and still yet today), but rain started about 8:45am. It didn't last but a few minutes... then in another hour it was pouring. That didn't last long either. We warmed to 64º.
   Come on sunshine!!!!

Speaking of weather, on the news, no matter what channel, they are constantly giving weather reports. In the 30 minute news hour they do it 3 times!!! ONCE is enough!

That is another reason I record the news so I can skim through the junk and just watch the important stuff. Once you are told what the weather will be, how many more times do you need to be told within 30 minutes???

Ok, here's the latest Budweiser commercial..... good one! I got emotional.

Special day today... former neighbor Robbie Wilkinson and his bride Laura have been married 36 years today! Congratulations kids!

Robbie used to babysit our kids. He became a fireman and is now retired from LA Co. Fire.

Amazing how fast the time goes!!!

And today is a special birthday, Charlean (Gottesman) Allen (LASD ret) .... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!!!

Dinner was an experiment.....

I put Mexican rice, black rice, and brown rice in equal amounts in the rice cooker with half clam juice and half water.
I drained the clams and saved half and froze them.
There are about 3 cups of chopped clams and 3 cups of clam juice in this size can.

I put the drained clams, quartered artichoke hearts, black olives, chiles, and mushrooms in the big pan with a little olive oil and turned it on low.

When the rice was done I added that into the pan.

Everything mixed together and I added in a bit more of the juices I drained from the cans and added some broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. Turned on med to steam...

I know. Odd dinner, but GOOD! Whatever is your favorite rice, cook it and add in just anything you like. Simple. Use chopped chicken.... canned salmon.... tuna even.

Chair, wine, Blue Bloods, phone chats with some pals. Nice.

Now onto today.......................

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
