Good 55º semi-cloudy morning.
Last year on this date it was raining ... (7-17-2011:)
All day yesterday I felt the pressure dropping ... in my hands and
fingers. OUCH! Dang, arthritis is sure a weather predictor! Clouds moved in and
by 2 it was looking like 'something' might happen...
.. and then at 5pm...
At 11pm last night we had rain and thunder! Didn't last but a few
minutes.
I let Maggie out to pee before going to bed and lo and behold 'Baby' was sleeping on the glider on the front porch! Seems as though she is making herself completely at home! I was glad to see she was safe and dry.
......and this morning....
Here are the predictors....
Saw another good movie. Heartwarming. "Borrowed Hearts", with Roma Downey,
Eric McCormack, Hector Elizondo, and the cutest monstrous Sarah Rosen Fruitman
as Zoey...
I know, it's not the holidays, but it is a Christmas story.
Historically this date....
1938 – Douglas Corrigan takes
off from Brooklyn to fly the
"wrong way" to Ireland and becomes known as "Wrong Way" Corrigan.
..... yesterday coming out of the market was an elderly gentleman with
a cane. It had sparkles and little red white and blue thingys and a little Pluto
stuffed animal wired to it. I commented and he said he was a HUGE Disneyland
fan~ He and his wife drive from here twice a year so he can go to Disneyland.
1975 – Apollo-Soyuz Test
Project: An American Apollo and a Soviet Soyuz spacecraft dock
with each other in orbit marking the first such
link-up between spacecraft from the two nations.
1981 – A structural failure leads to the collapse of a walkway at
the Hyatt Regency in Kansas City,
Missouri killing 114 people and injuring more than 200.
And births this date include....
.... what a nut!
... Dude, cut the hair!
1947 – Camilla,
Duchess of Cornwall
.... wondered WHAT Charles ever saw in her. She's weird. But, then, so is
he!!!
.... oh boy, talk about self love!
I have this recipe I found for Edamame Hummus. It was on Ali's blog ...
Interesting blog.... lots of good food ideas. Thanks Ali for the
inspiration!
Anyway.............. I didn't have any edamame. My local Rays only had "in
the shell edamame". So, saving gas I decided to use what I had instead of
driving the 10 miles there and 10 miles back from Grants Pass. I used frozen
green peas!
This was an excellent snack! I added more garlic (of course) and it was
spicy and refreshing! Today I'm going to put the remaining back into the food
processor and add a can of garbanzo beans. Just to experiment! What could be
better for you!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
