Good 47º (summer!) morning. Hit 64º yesterday. Had a jacket on with a wool scarf and was wondering why I was sweating! This taken about noon....
.... and this was just taken this morning....
We did get quite a bit of wind and some rain.... just about 1/3"
Shopping day yesterday. Was going to Wal Mart but thinking about something else and missed the turn to the store so I went Fred Meyer's instead on a whim as I drove past and got flannel sheets on sale! I had broken the gold chain on the necklace Jerry had given me some time ago. Made me sad because I love that necklace and wore it all the time. Well, in Freddy's I decided to check on chains in the jewelry department. OMG, they were 60% off!!! So, I got one. YEAH. Also found Wanchai Orange Chicken in the Asian food section. It is sooooooo good! I got the last two boxes. Then............... decided to go to Wal Mart and see what their flannel sheets were like and what price. HA! They didn't even have any! So, that worked out great for me. Bargains. One thing, at least the shopping population in Wally World didn't disappoint in the way they were dressed! I should have taken my camera in with me.
Then it was off to Bill and Jeannie's for a chat and wine. Bill was making bean/ham soup and they gave me some to bring home. OMG!!! That is the BEST soup I have ever eaten!!!! Beans, veggies, kielbasa, ham ..... HEAVEN! Thanks Billy!!
On the way home there was poleece activity.... street was blocked off and there were lots of blinkie blinkies and an officer directing traffic... crime scene tape. I later heard on the news a woman had been hit and killed crossing the dark street...wearing dark clothing. Sad. For you locals this was at SW G Street and Oak.
Back home safe and sound, fire, chair, wine, and Billy's soup! Ahhhhh......
My nephew Andy is 57 years old today. How can that be??
Here he is with my sis, Marion, his first Christmas. What a doll baby.
.... And here is one of the last pictures I have of him... on the far right.. this was in 1988. Haven't heard from the boy in years. He lives in Sparks or Reno..... You hear from him Jimmy????

So glad you got a chain. I know how much you have missed wearing that necklace. Glad you enjoyed Bill's soup, it was the best! YUM
I don't know why Mary Tyler Moore did all that "plastic". She was always so pretty, I thought. Now, not so much.
Have a wonderful day. xo
Jeannie
Thanks girlfriend! You gots to write down the ingredients of Bill's soup!!! I wanna make it too!!!! xoxoxoxox
Yes. How can you have a nephew MY age):- What I love about Mary Tyler Moore is she can have serious diabetes- and never let it get in her way. That's a role model much more than wanting to turn into Barbie- which is what happens when you let the doctor's play with too much plastic during surgery.
The soup sounds divine.
I will remember to wear something reflective if I take up walking at night. My "time" will come soon enough without rushing it.
Sue,
Guess yesterday was bean and ham soup day as you can see by the photos I sent, I made it too.
This many days after Christmas either just the ham bone is left but in my case lots of ham but the guys weren't much interested anymore so, the soup! I will be taking Edda some today.
Do you know if Bill has to skim fat off the top before serving? I did cut off all visible fat first though. Eric asked me if I did that. I will do it today since it's been in the frig overnight. Just too much made and too much left over!
Have a good one!
Hugs, Trisha
@ L, yes, do wear bright and/or reflective clothes at night...carry a flashlight too. xo
@ T, I didn't see any fat on Bill's soup, since they dished out some for me to take home. The broth is thick like gravy. Mmmm..... I am hoping to get his recipe. xo
Is it just me or does Charles Goodyear look like Abe LIncoln? AND it doesn't look as if John Voight has had any plastic going on- lol.
I could live on bean soup. My Mother always made a big pot for me with corn bread- even in the humid summertime that Okla is famous for. We just turned up the air and added hot peppers- what I wouldn't give for a bowl of that soup.
Wonder why your nephew hasn't stayed in touch? Sad- I know I didn't send Christmas Cards to my Aunts and Uncle- or anyone as a matter of fact- because it just reminds me that my Mom is gone. I am going to try to keep in touch more.
Sideways got a new "scarf" for Christmas- he looks so handsome and hasn't chewed it up yet. lol- love ya- Sue, I really do!
I cannot imagine waking up to that view every morning- heaven!
You're right! Goodyear does resemble Lincoln. Cool. I think Voight looks as if he's just old... he has all those wrinkles and floppy chin goin' on! Picture of Sideways with the scarf, please!
