Happy Throw Back Thursday.... 2006
Brian and his 2 year old Tucker... (today is Tucker's birthday!)

Picture of the Day....
Beach fun by someone with a great imagination!

I have always loved WD-40 for so many things. Especially keeping critters out from under the hood of your car once you spray the engine with it. And, it kept that bear out of my big can of cracked corn! Now here are a few more uses...
1. Removes dried gum from fabrics... like if it was stuck to the bottom of your shoe and then you walked on the carpet. So easy to remove from the carpet and your shoe, by just spraying it on the gum. Within a few seconds it pulls off easily! It also works if a kid gets gum in their hair.

2. Prevents squirrels from eating all the bird seed. They climb the bird feeders like ninjas and eat the birdseed before the birds get a chance! Spray the tops of the bird feeder with WD-40 before you ffill it so it doesn't contaminate the seed. The squirrels will slip right off!

3. If you run out of toilet bowl cleaner, don't worry. The solvents in the WD-40 dissolve hard water deposits, lime, and other gunk. Just spray the toilet bowl with the WD-40 and let it sit a few seconds and scrub it away with the toilet brush!

4. It takes sticky paper price stickers off easily from a gift vase,  coffee mug, , or anything that you would have a hard time scraping the sticker off. Also taking the label off candle jars or any glass you want to reuse is maddening. Spray the sticker with WD-40 and let it sit for a bit. The sticker after a few minutes will have absorbed the spray and you can remove it in one piece!

This Crock Pot Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole is a crowd pleaser for young and old alike! I’m guessing it will instantly go on your “go-to” recipe list. Sorry, if you don't have a crock pot, but read below...
1 pound ground beef, browned and drained
1 10¾ oz can cream of mushroom soup
16oz processed cheese sliced

32 oz bag tater tots

  1. Mix together your browned ground beef with your soup.
  2. Spread your ground beef mixture in a casserole crock pot or 4 quart crock pot.
  3. Lay your cheese slices evenly across the top.
  4. Place your tater tots on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  6. If you want to brown up the top and your crock is oven safe, place your crock in your broiler on Hi for a couple minutes, watching constantly.
Recipe Notes
  • You won’t use your entire bag of tater tots, but a 16 oz bag wouldn’t have covered the top in my casserole crock. So you can just have some extra tots in your freezer to enjoy later!
  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Now, if you are a creative cook, this could be made in a casserole dish in the oven. Bake at 350º for 45 min to an hour.

Way back when I was working for UPS and delivered a package to Ricky Nelson's house, the boys came to the door with the butler. They were so cute!

Yesterday stayed really comfortable. By afternoon we were still about 76º. Windy....

And we had one cloud!

And one of the now very few hummers here was hanging onto the feeder as it swayed....

By late afternoon we heated to 80º.

In the early evening a couple young deer came for a visit....

The moon was out....

And there was this butterfly who clung onto the screen door. He'd leave periodically and then come back...

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

On September 20th, we recognize the most popular pizza ever created. Pepperoni Pizza Day celebrates the pizza enjoyed by young and old alike. While pizza comes in many flavors, pepperoni is the single most popular pizza. Whether you like your pizza Chicago Style or New York Style, thin and crispy or deep dish, top it with pepperoni!
According to legend, Raffaele Esposito created the first pizza in June of 1889 in honor of the Queen of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. He created the Pizza Margherita, a pizza topped with tomatoes, basil and mozzarella, which represented the colors of the Italian flag. While pizza has evolved since that time to include a multitude of toppings from anchovies and pineapple to sausage and bacon, pepperoni remains the most popular.
Italian-Americans developed the ever-popular topping through time-honored sausage making techniques. The seasoned pork and beef sausage is smoked and cured until the resulting product is ready to be sliced and placed on a delicious pie.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG DUDE who used to be a little dude. He's gotten so tall and oh so cute. But then he was always a doll!

I think your hummers have come down here. John fills the three big feeders every day.

Thank you T! Yes, Tucker is getting tall. You certainly have a LOT of hummers!!When I was getting the ones during the fire who were relocating here I filled the feeders once a week, now they are gone so it's back to 3-4 hummers only. They all migrate down to your house!! xo
