Good 49º clear sunny morning.
Another super day yesterday. We warmed up to 86º by afternoon. We had a few little clouds show up.
Picture of the Day
And that is why Dude has his own couch! It's next to Bruiser's cat tree and they both can look out the glass door.....
Mike was here again yesterday, cutting up more of that tree. With fire season upon us, use of lawnmowers on any dry grass or things like power sawing has to end by 1pm. He cut and stacked more wood and mowed the front lawn. Then he hit the road to another job.
The turkeys were all sitting in the shade up in the pasture.. and it was only 70º!
Dude was glued to watching the gate because I told him Mike was coming over!
Interesting....
Best Foods is now making ketchup....
Made with the best nature has to offer. No added flavors, artificial ingredients or preservatives. Our ketchup uses only six high-quality ingredients – tomato puree, honey, white wine vinegar, spices, onion powder and salt.
Basically the other ketchups are made with the following:
- Tomatoes, sugar (or high fructose corn syrup), vinegar, salt, spices and seasonings
From Kevin the Closet Cook...
Normally when I think about BBQ sauce I think of a sweet and spicy tomato based, red, sauce but there are other kinds of BBQ sauce like this white BBQ sauce. This sauce has a base of mayonnaise along with vinegar for tang, mustard and horseradish for bite, garlic and Worcestershire sauce for flavor, paprika for a bit of smokiness, salt, cayenne and plenty of fresh cracked black pepper! It only takes a few minutes to whip up your own white BBQ sauce and it tastes great slathered on chicken, as a dipping sauce for chicken bites or fingers or mixed in with pulled/shredded meat for sandwiches or salads!
A creamy and tangy white BBQ sauce with bite!
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar (or cider vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon creole mustard
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 2 cloves garlic, minced/grated
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (omit for vegetarian)
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
- salt and cayenne to taste
Mix everything and enjoy!

I told you and had pictures of Brian, Tucker, and Sami doing their scuba class, so today they are in Newport Oregon at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. They will be scubaing in the shark tank!!!
I can't wait to see pictures of that! Here is what the tank looks like and it has a tunnel that you can watch the sharks from. Jen will be in there taking pictures!
I had a note from high school pal, Steve Geon (LAPD ret) and he said he is in Costa Rica (he has a home there) and he said the salad dressings are "boring" down there so he made the Farmers Salad Dressing I posted on June 27th and he loves it!!! Thanks Steve!!!
