Good 27º super foggy morning.
Sun again yesterday....
And Dude was lovin' it!
On FB the signs from yesterday's blog were being discussed and
my pal Sugar Bear said she had this one and I do too, at my front
door!
I also have this one....
and this is my doormat...
Here is a 20 second video of my grandson Jack (black shirt,
yellow hat, back to camera) with the other drummers with the Pasadena City
College Lancer Marching Band practicing Sunday ...
Here is a picture of the whole band on the field later...
So, Sunday Brian and family went and picked up their new 8 week old puppy, Dash...
He is the cutest guy! I can't wait to meet him! He is an English Jack
Russell. Interesting about this kind of dog:
Special birthday today... Shelly Broadman, husband of the infamous JCRW
past President Ruth. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLY!
Historically this date.....
...... Ok, let me explain.... yesterday's blog contained things that
happened today in history, not yesterday. Also the births listed were for 12-12.
So, to make up for that faux pas today I will list historical happenings for
yesterday 12-11 and births for yesterday 12-11. Groan....
1941 – World War
II: Germany and Italy declare war on the United
States, following the Americans' declaration of war on
Japan in the wake of the attack
on Pearl Harbor. The United States, in turn, declares
war on Germany and Italy.
And births this date include............. (remember it's for
12-11)
Gawd, she was a beauty! Whoppen??
How about a quick easy breakfast to serve to the gang.....
Hash Brown Breakfast Pie

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, divided
- 8 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red or green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9-inch deep dish pie

Squeeze potatoes with
paper towels to remove any water. Place in a large bowl with butter, 1/2
teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; mix well. Spoon mixture into pie
plate and press on bottom and up sides to form a crust.
In a large bowl, mix
eggs, milk, remaining salt, and remaining pepper. Stir in remaining ingredients
and pour into pie crust.
Bake 45 to 50
minutes, or until eggs are set in center.
Last night dinner was a boneless skinless chicken thigh, Omaha Steaks potatoes au gratin, and green beans. OMGOOOD!
Then chair, wine, and TV.... NYPD Blue, Blue Bloods, Hawaii 5-0, Rookie Blue ....
And, last night's sunset....
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Hanukkah
Tonight at sundown marks the beginning of the eight-day Jewish
celebration of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights!
Hanukkah starts on a different day each year according to the Western
calendar, but it always begins on the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar. The
word “Hanukkah” means dedication or induction, and the holiday signifies the
rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem after the Maccabees revolted
against Alexander, Antiochus IV and his persecution of the Jews.
According to the Talmud, at the time of the rededication there was only
enough oil left to burn the eternal flame in the temple for one day. It lasted
for eight days—just the amount of time needed to make a fresh supply of oil.
Hence, it is tradition at Hanukkah to light a candle on the menorah for each of
the eight nights of Hanukkah.
Celebrate Hanukkah by lighting candles at nightfall, playing dreidel,
sending a free Hanukkah
eCard, or eating some delicious potato latkes! Happy
Hanukkah!
