Something yummy and easy...
Crab Cakes:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 egg
1 T Dijon mustard
1 T. hot sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
(I like to add a celery stock finely diced and a green onion, finely diced. You can also add 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley.)
1 t. seafood seasoning (Old Bay is good!)
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. black pepper
3/4 cup bread crumbs
16 oz lump crab meat, canned or fresh
olive oil
In a large bowl whisk together mayonnaise, egg, mustard, hot sauce, garlic, seafood seasoning, salt and pepper. Gently stir in bread crumbs and crab until just combined. Form into crab cakes.
In large skillet over medium heat, heat 2 T olive oil. Sauté crab cakes 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown. Remove to platter and cover with foil to keep warm. Repeat with remaining cakes and add more oil as needed.
Dinner was reruns. Then chair, wine, and TV.... S.W.A.T., News, NYPD Blue and I went to bed early!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

December 7th
Pearl Harbor Day
and
National Cotton Candy Day
Cotton Candy is a popular summertime treat. That being the case, why do we celebrate this day in the middle of December? Good question.
The Cotton Candy machine was patented in 1899 by William Morrison and John C. Wharton. They brought it to the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, where is was quite popular. Cotton Candy is a favorite at amusement parks, circuses, fairs, and sports venues.
Cotton Candy was originally called fairy floss. It is made from Floss (or Flossine) sugar.
