Good 43ºclear sunny morning.
Yesterday it stayed sunny and clear and we topped at 93º.
Happy Throw Back Thursday. Here is Jerry and Brian putting together our
above ground pool in 1987:
That pool was fun. Brian and his pal would put the beach chairs on the
garage roof to sunbathe and then jump from there into the pool! Our dog Dallas,
a Chesapeake Bay Retriever (hunting dog) loved to jump in the pool and swim too,
but not from the roof!
She would also sit in the hot tub with Jerry!!
Apparently Pat Reardon (LASD ret) is doing well after his aortic surgery.
His Alice wrote me that he is talking and was getting up to walk yesterday
morning. Surgery was Tuesday morning.
Ok, this sounds too good to pass up.... I picked up the
ingredients yesterday and will make it tomorrow.
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (I got
thighs)
4 cans (15.5 oz) Great Northern Beans
16 oz jar salsa (I got the green chunky salsa)
8 oz shredded colby jack cheese or pepper jack
2 t. ground cumin
½ cup chicken broth
optional: 12 oz can of beer of 1½ cups chicken broth...
depending if you like it a thinner consistency.
1. Put all ingredients, except for chicken and optional
beer/broth, in crock pot and stir.
2. Add chicken and using spoon press them down into the
chili
3. Add additional liquid for thinner consistency if
desired
4. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
5. Remove chicken and shred it then return it to chili and
stir.
I was watching Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel with Andrew
Zimmern http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/bizarre-foods/episodes
And... he went to Lisbon Portugal.
They have a bridge there that looks like
our San Francisco Golden Gate!
... and they have cable cars!
Many of the dishes that were fixed by Lisbon chefs were so
interesting and looked really good. I like his shows, but some have some gross
(bizarre is right) foods that are fixed and consumed. I just pass those

Yesterday was shoulder therapy. Getting along well and less pain. YEAH! Stacy is great! She also showed me how just slightly leaning over while sitting or standing and let your arm just hang, it relaxes a lot! And of course, running the hot shower on the shoulder and moving the arm slowly up and down. All works! As well as the Aleve!
Saw a new show last night, The Good Doctor. He is a very young doctor with Autism and Savant syndrome. Odd...... but interesting. He is so abnormally smart, and outsmarts the other doctors at the hospital he is working at, learning to be a surgeon.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.
