Good 35º scattered cloudy last day of the month!
More snow on my mountain!
Yesterday I made a run into Grants Pass to sign some more paperwork for my
new ride at Roe Motors ...
I had a nice chat with Lori Bouquet.
I ordered some mud flaps for the back tires, and sadly the step that
unfolds when you open the door is too close to the wheel well on the front to
install mud flaps. What the heck were the GM engineers thinking????? Sigh. Then
to Safeway for a couple things, Ace for cracked corn and to pay my monthly bill,
vets for dental kibble for Dude, and home! Raining then.
Like the "shot of whiskey" yesterday here is another phrase with it's
origin:
BUYING THE FARM -
This is synonymous with dying. During WW1 soldiers were given life
insurance policies worth $5,000. This was about the price of an average farm so
if you died you "bought the farm" for your survivors.
LOL:
Do you have a microwave? Here is a GREAT breakfast egg recipe, Eggs
Florentine:
1 egg, 1 T water, 2 T thinly sliced baby spinach, 2 T chopped mushrooms,
shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced grape or cherry tomatoes, 1 t. oil.
Coat an 8oz custard or ramekin or porcelain coffee cup with the oil. Beat
the egg, water, spinach, and mushrooms until blended. Microwave on high 30
seconds, stir. Microwave until egg is almost set, 30-45 seconds. Top with cheese
and tomatoes.
This is good and easy and I make it often.
When I was watching TV on Sunday I was going through the
channels and there was Jimmy Kimmel talking at the Oscars.
He was saying something about the envelope being read, the winner
coming to the stage, and thank you speeches. Then he said "Trump will be
tweeting about it during his morning bowl movement."
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA??????????????
HOW GROSS. What an IDIOT! Disgusting!!! Of course I changed
the channel immediately! As for Kimmel, so like most Hollyweirdos, he thinks
he's the funniest guy ever! NOT!

February 28th
Fat Tuesday
It's time to party it up, and ....eat!!
Nowhere on the planet is Fat Tuesday celebrated more than on Bourbon Street
in New Orleans. The day is celebrated with festivities and parades and of course
much food and drink. While in New Orleans, a big tradition is in wearing Mardi
Gras beads and giving them to others. And tradition requires that if a guy gives
a girl some beads, she has to do something for him.....this can be just loads of
fun.........
Did You Know? On Bourbon street in
New Orleans, store owners coat poles and columns with Vaseline to keep wild and
rowdy revelers from climbing them (and perhaps
falling).
