Good 49º dark gloomy raining morning.

Yesterday was gloomy, drizzly, and stayed in the lower 60ºs. We topped at 64º when the rain started again about 2pm.

Friend Trish's hubby John Bowler (LASD ret) and their son Daryl are up here, to shop for a new car for Daryl's wife. They are enjoying the cool rainy weather, being from So. California ..... Nice change for them. They hit rain as soon as they crossed into Oregon.

I cleaned out some cupboards and got rid of a bunch of "old" stuff that is not needed by me or anyone else! Always a good feeling!

Interesting about cats...

Unlike other mammals, cats lack the proper genetic coding to experience sweet tastes. Cats have a mutant chemoreceptor in their taste buds that prevents them from tasting sweet things, which is actually a trait shared by all cats big and small, not just domestic ones. In 2005, scientists from the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, discovered that a genetic deficiency deletes the sugar detectors on the taste buds of a cat. In other words, cats do not possess the genetic hardware needed to taste sweets.

FYI:

Saw a funny short film of a donkey heading the lead of a bunch of sheep.... hundreds of sheep!! LOL. Yep, that's Hill-liary all right!  

Later I remembered I had some avocados in the fridge so decided to make guacamolé.

I cut up the avocados and added in the spice along with some cilantro and granulated lemon, and mashed them up.

I drained the chiles and fire roasted tomatoes well and added the whole can of chiles and half the tomatoes...

Then....... since it was National Vodka Day I fixed a vodka rocks with lemon juice and had a snack!
