Good 54º clear sunny morning. We topped at 97º yesterday.
Breakfast was the leftover half of a pork chop... Heated it,
heated the roll, added cheese to the top and bottom and a little barbecue sauce
on the chop! MMMMMMMMMMM........... Good!!!
Today is my Mom's birthday... August 15, 1905 (d. 1994)
She was super special and so missed!
Mom and Dad 1944:
Mom and Dad 1976 on their 50th Anniversary:
Friend Trish Bowler posted this of her granddaughter Isabella.... She isn't
fond of vegetables, but for some reason she asked her mom to bring home zucchini
from the market... I just thought this picture was toooooo cute!!!
Yesterday it really clouded up. The first two about 7:45am and
then an hour later...
We didn't get any rain, but the clouds lasted most of the day.
Some radar around. Stayed breezy.
Another birthday today is Barry Perrou (LASD ret) HAPPY
BIRTHDAY BARRY! I hope you have a GREAT day!
This taken from the 1981 LASD annual...
Historically this date..
1914 – A male servant of American architect Frank Lloyd
Wright sets fire to the living quarters of the architect's Wisconsin home, Taliesin, murders
seven people and burns the living quarters to the ground.
..........
he was definitely and interesting man. I love his architecture! Click on the
word "Taliesin" and read the fascinating story of that home.... his second wife
and her murder. His 'winter home' he built in Scottsdale AZ and called it
Taliesin West. I would love to go there and see it. Some day. Scottsdale is a
very neat place!
1935 – Will Rogers and Wiley Post are killed after
their aircraft develops engine problems during takeoff in Barrow,
Alaska.
1945 – World War II: Japan surrenders to
end the war.
....
this is neat.... my Mom's birthday is on the surrender date and my birthday is
on the peace treaty signing date!
1965 – The Beatles play to
nearly 60,000 fans at
Shea Stadium in New York City, in an event
later seen as marking the birth of stadium
rock.
1969 – The Woodstock
Music and Art Festival opens
1971 – President Richard Nixon completes
the break from the gold standard by ending convertibility of
the United States
dollar into gold by foreign investors.
1974 – Yuk Young-soo, First Lady of South Korea, is killed
during an apparent assassination attempt upon President of South Korea, Park
Chung-hee.
.....
Man oh man, can you imagine your name being "Yuk"!
"Ewwwwww,
Yuk", "What?" "I think since you are little I'll call you Yukkie!"
LOL
And
births this date include....
1912 – Julia Child, American cook
and TV personality (d. 2004)
...
.and played by Meryl Streep..... she was soooo good!
1923 – Rose Marie, American
actress
1925 – Mike Connors, American
actor
....
Wow, still kicking... lives in Encino, born in Fresno, went to UCLA. Married to
same woman since 1949!!
1968 – Debra Messing, American
actress
1972 – Ben Affleck, American
actor
Dude and I took a "run" to the road to take the trash for
pickup tomorrow. We went when it was still cool...... 70º.
Dinner again was with my Air Fryer.
I took an Omaha Steaks Chicken in Pastry and coated it with
olive oil. Cooked it at 350º for about 10 minutes, then added in some mushrooms
tossed with olive oil and garlic salt and three veggie cakes, also drizzled with
olive oil and cooked for another 7 minutes.
SUPER good, easy, cleanup a breeze (everything in the
dishwasher!)
Chair and wine. Watched some of the Olympics, the news, and a Blue Bloods.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

mmmmm That Omaha pastry looks so yummy. I think it's time to place another order with them.
Love that you posted Isabella's zucchini photo. lol Today in "Memories" I came across a post from you a year ago. It was zucchini chips. I sent it to Kev and Deb and told them I'll bet Isabella would eat it fixed that way.
Lovely photos of your spread. Hope you sent them in to the TV station.
I think I would change my last name if "Messing" was my name. Get married and change it or something! LOL
You look sooo much like your mom. They look like such a sweet couple. They raised you well.

Good morning. Your hot weather has arrived. I normally like to start the day in quiet- but today, the air conditioning turning on lifted my mood.
To see the genius of Frank Lloyd Wright, you need to nake a pilgremmage to Pennsylvania. Fallingwater is one of two houses open to the public. He was a mad genius, a total germaphobic and control freak. His kitchens are tiny and closets had to be installed after the master left.
Yes, T, I really do like that chicken pastry. That and their meatballs! So good. As for the photos, the local channel has not been posting photos lately. Sum ting wong maybe. Who knows. Thanks re me and mom!!! xo
L, interesting that super amazingly smart people have so many oddities! xo
