Good 33º dark and snowing morning! Happy Christmas Eve! The
weather man said snow possible after midnight. It was so quiet last night I knew
it had to be snowing. Sure enough!
A little snow on my mountain yesterday...
But, this morning...
Tomorrow on Christmas morning, a rare astronomical event will occur: a
full moon will reach its peak size,
according to Fred Espenak, an eclipse and moon expert with NASA's Goddard Space
Flight Center.
It's a special treat: The last time a full moon shone on Christmas Day,
1977, the world's first personal computers were just hitting the market and the
most popular baby names were Jennifer and Michael. In science, Enterprise, the
first space shuttle developed by NASA, made its first glide tests from the back
of a Boeing 747. Though Enterprise never made it to space, it made major
contributions to the space shuttle program as a test vehicle. In entertainment,
"Star Wars" hit theaters for the first time and went on to have a major impact
on modern American popular culture. The next Christmas full moon will be in
2034.
Every year, December’s full moon, which is the last of the year, is
called the Cold Moon. According to space.com some Native American cultures call the event the
Long Nights Moon, as the winter solstice kicks off around the same time,
bringing with it the longest night of the year.
If you are a sky gazer, circle December 25 on your calendar now and if
you want to see the full moon at its biggest size, head outside at 6:11 am
Eastern time on Christmas morning.
Throw Back Thursday ... Our Buckwheat helping me with clean
up... 2006:
This is perfect for today... this is one of the BEST
commercials. I needed a Kleenex! Thanks John Anderson (LASD ret) for sharing
this!
Yesterday I made Erika's Blautkraut.
I cooked boneless skinless chicken thighs for Dude.
I hard boiled eggs for deviled eggs (Brian's request) and
I tried to wrap some gifts... But as you can see, Bruiser was right in the
middle of my business!
I baked cookies..
Today I'm roasting a turkey!
The rain had stopped for a bit and Bruiser went on one of his "hunting
escapades". Here he comes back up the road...

National Egg Nog Day
National Egg Nog Day comes
but once a year. It celebrates a special, traditional holiday drink. It is
consumed with or without Rum. The timing couldn't be any better-- the day before
Christmas--- Christmas Eve!
Egg Nog is a seasonal holiday drink. It appears just before Thanksgiving,
and is enjoyed by many at the Thanksgiving meal. Consumption then takes a break
until the December holidays are in full swing. Consumption of egg nog peaks on
Christmas Eve. By the New Year, it is no longer available in stores. If you want
eggnog after New Year's you will likely have to make it yourself.
No one seems to know who created National Egg Nog Day. But, egg nog lovers
are ecstatic that this day exists. It's loaded with stuff that tastes really
good. It's loaded with stuff that's not good for you. Egg Nog afficienados will
tell you that its mmmmm delicious!
The Correct Spelling: This
holiday drink is spelled "Egg Nog" and "Eggnog", about equally. The carton in
the store spells it "Egg Nog". Which is correct? It depends upon how much rum is
in your Egg Nog! ... bottoms up!
My high school pal Sandy (Todoran) always made the BEST egg nog ever! Sure
miss it
Sandy!!

LUCKY YOU to have snow on Christmas!
I am a wet mess now after watching that beautiful Coke video. They and Budweiser make the bet ones. My fave is the one you sent Kevin about the couple expecting a baby, after the baby then found they were expecting another one. Beautiful and that ones makes me cry too.
HUGS and have a wonderful Christmas!!
XO Trisha

Am I the only Puerto Rican who can't sing or dance? Maybe can't isn't the right word- shouldn't might be better):-
