Good 43º cloudy morning. 80% chance of rain today. What a
relief from being in the teens and twentys!
Yesterday stayed drizzly until afternoon.
FedEx came by with an order. Nice gal. She was driving an SUV.
I asked about that, she said she had the choice of the regular FedEx truck or a
4 wheel drive SUV. Good choice. Much more comfortable! Then the UPS guy came by.
Dude was disappointed...not his 'Dad' and no cookies! THEN.... the gate guy,
from Quality Fence came by and fixed the gate.. new battery. He came back to the
house to tell me and he gave Dude a cookie! Happy dog.
Had to work on calendars yesterday. Today is pay bills day.
Joy.
Throw Back Thursday....
Sandy (Todoran) Beck and me 1989:
The shootings in San Bernardino yesterday were
horrible. My pal Trish's daughter-in-law, Becky, works at that location. She is
ok. Locked herself in with a bunch of people until they were told by police to
come out. That started at 11am. Then they were transported to another location
for questioning. She didn't get out of there until almost 5pm! Long frightening
day. The suspects, a man and wife. So tragic with no explanation. He born here
in US and he met her on line and went to Saudia Arabia to get her. They married
and have a 6 month old child she left with her mother. Wednesday Thursday

some for breakfast!
Now, these sound heavenly. Crock Pot mashed, no

6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
5 bullion cubes or 5 t. McCormick or Better Than
Bullion (I like it best) chicken base
5 cups water
2 large cloves of garlic, minced and
divided
1 8oz block of cream cheese
1 oz. pkg ranch dip mix
½ cup butter
¼ cup milk
Bring water, bullion, 1 clove minced garlic, to
boil. Add cubed potatoes, and boil until fork tender. Drain. Place potatoes in
large mixing bowl and add 1 clove minced garlic, cream cheese, ranch dip mix,
butter, and milk. Mash and mix everything together.
Spray Crock Pot with cooking spray and spoon in
potato mixture. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours.
Later I mostly watched the news on the shootings.
Depressing.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Throw Back Thursday.
Ciao.

Sue, how ironic that today is the International Day of People with Disabilities. Yesterday the tragic shooting was at a facility, Inland Regional Center, where people with disabilities are given services. Our Becky is a case worker for babies from birth to three years old with disabilities. Those people are so loving and dedicated.
We are thanking the Lord that our Becky got out safe and sound. She and co workers were instructed to stand in the hall. When Becky called Daryl and told him what was happening he told her to get her co workers and get inside an office and lock and barricade the door, turn off the lights and stay silent. They did. They are safe. She is emotionally and physically exhausted. She won't be able to get to her car until Monday when she goes back to work. It's a crime scene. She was scheduled to be a vendor at the Diamond Bar Christmas Crafts Fair on Saturday but had to cancel since most of her items are locked in her car's trunk!
I am still in tears today thinking about it and those who lost their lives.
Thank you for posting about it.
XO Trisha
Boy, Becky needs the weekend off, for sure! What trauma she and all the others went through. Yes, thank God she is safe. xoxo
Good morning. Those potatoes sound like GOOD comfort food. Couldn't we all use some comfort after yesterday? God bless and keep us all.
Yes, L, I think just watching the mess unfold on the TV requires some comfort to all of us. ox
So thankful Becky made it through this treacherous event. This world scares the hell out of me! So sorry for those who lost their lives and those injured and Becky's trauma! I'm controlling my mouth by not saying what i'm thinking about the perps!!!!
GS
GS, so agree with you! I'm keeping my mouth shut too! xo
