417 ~ Deer/Bruiser ~ Sayings ~ Merle Norman/Harry & David/Costco ~ Hollyweird Support for Bullshillary ~ Roasted Cauliflower/Broccoli w/ Chicken ~ Cheeseballs

Good 39º clear gonna be a sunny day morning. Typical of this crazy place... heat on in the morning and ac in the afternoon. Well, not quite yet. It was nice with all the doors open yesterday afternoon!

Yes, here we are again... 4-17 .... California Penal Code section for "brandishing a firearm in a rude or threatening manner" and doing so is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for not less than 30
days. And if it occurs in a public place a fine of $1000 and/or jail is mandated. If this occurs on the grounds of a day care center for children under 18 years old then the jail time increases to no less than 3 months. If this occurs in the presence of a police officer jail in county for no less than 9 months not to exceed 1 year or in state prison for 16 months or 3 years.

Or.......................... it's a radio code in CA for "man with a gun". Got it? Good.

Yesterday morning a few deer were in the pasture, and Bruiser was keeping an eye on them!
This deer was keeping and eye on me... I was in the dining room window!

Here are some funny sayings Debra Centofante (bride of Mike, formerly of the LASD Range) posted on her FB page....

For my Grand's....
Q: What do you call a cow that can't produce any milk?
A: A milk dud.
 — feeling happy.

Q: Where does a bunny get breakfast?
A: At I-Hop!
 — traveling to Paducah, Kentucky.

Last one .....
Q: Did you hear the joke about the bed?
A: No? That's because it hasn't been made up yet!
 — feeling loved.

Yesterday was a trip to Medford. First Merle Norman for some new cosmetics...
Then to Harry & David (because they are next door!)
Got some mayonnaise made in France~ Aioli ... mayonnaise with garlic.
OMG I'm drooling... http://www.delouis.com/ Check their website, it's interesting!

Our Tucker loves chocolate chip pancakes at Tap Rock and they had a chocolate chip pancake mix at H&D, so got Tucker some!

Also some Columbus Pesto Mayonnaise, and some Columbus Spicy Remoulade New Orleans Style Mayonnaise ...

Then to Costco...
I needed chicken stock for Dude's meals, also got broccoli florets, and cauliflower florets, olive oil, Siracha seasoning (OMG, sounds awesome .. shake on eggs, popcorn, pizza and fries. Mix with mayo for a sandwich spread or give dips a kick!)
and got a few other things ... a bag of broccoli florets, a bag of cauliflower florets, dog treats, Kleenex, you know.. the usual...

Mr. Holden grew up close to where I did. He graduated
from South Pasadena High School and attended Pasadena
City College (me too!) and got his start at the Pasadena
Playhouse.
Our friend, Paul Harper, who passed away in 2009, was in the movie The Wild Bunch. He gave Jerry the hat that Holden wore in the movie. Here is a picture of Paul with Ernest Borgnine:

Later after a wine and a chat with my BFF JP I tossed some of the broccoli and some of the cauliflower florets, some cherry tomatoes, and a couple cans of sliced mushrooms with olive oil, garlic salt, & Siracha Seasoning. Then roasted them in the oven at 400º for 25 minutes. Tossed in some shredded chicken from the one I cooked the other day. OMGOOOOOD!!!!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

National Cheeseball Day

National Cheeseball Day is a day to stuff yourself with cheeseballs. But wait!!! What kind of cheeseball are we talking about? There's the light and airy, puffy cheeseball that you munch on for a snack by the dozens. There is also the cheeseball, often decorated with nuts, that sits on a party tray until spread on a cracker. Is this a celebration derived from the snack industry, or the dairy industry?
When it comes to the cheeseball snack, we are certain that you can't eat just one. Not even a handful. Cheeseballs are addicting. Place a bowl of cheeseballs on the counter, and watch them disappear right before your eyes. Toddlers and young kids are Cheeseball hounds. So are teenagers and adults. In other words, everyone lives cheeseballs.
The cheeseballs of holiday trays is equally loved. Strangely, it is wildly popular around the holidays and hard to find other times of year.
Celebrate today with cheeseballs (both kinds). Serve them after dinner during your favorite Television show, or whenever its convenient.
