Good 49º cloudy drizzling morning.
Don't think the rain last night was measurable, but everything is wet and
the smoke has ceased on the burn pile!
Some radar over us...
Those weather people never get it right. Here's the
predictions for this week through next...
Praying for good election results today!
Today a very special birthday... my long time pal Berta
(Sommer) Long (now she goes by..Bobbe). . HEY GIRLFRIEND,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
We became friends back in about 1965
when George and I lived in an apartment at 908 S. Margarita Avenue in Alhambra.
I recall looking out the window facing the parking lot and here was a very
pregnant woman cleaning out a black 1957 Chevy Nomad! I though her husband must
be a monster to make a pregnant woman do that! Later, of course, I learned that
when you are pg, you have tons of energy and do stuff like that! LOL. HAPPY
BIRTHDAY BERTA♥ !!!!
Remember this place Berta...... found this on Google Maps!
Football last night...
YEAH Colts!!!!
Historically this date...
2008 – Barack Obama becomes the first African-American to be
elected President of the United
States.
...........................Don't get me
started on that arrogant self-serving lying piece of garbage.
And births this date
include....
1879 – Will Rogers, American humorist (d.
1935)
1916 – Walter Cronkite, American news broadcaster (d.
2009)
1916 – Ruth Handler, American businesswoman and inventor
of the Barbie doll (d. 2002)
1937 – Loretta Swit, American actress
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA~!!
I miss your sweetness, style, and
sincerity ...and CLASS! Something that has been missing since you and "Bushie"
left the White House!
1961 – Ralph Macchio, American actor
1969 – Matthew McConaughey, American actor
Ewwwww.......
I had to go into Grants Pass yesterday and before I left, here was Bruiser
in the boat! It has a lot of water in the bottom and he likes to drink it! We
(Brian and Dan) brought it down from the pond for a guy to come look at, but he
was not interested. It now needs to be turned back upside down so it's not
filling up with rain! Can't do it by myself!
Then he decided to climb a tree! Nut!
First to the car dealership for some work on my ride...
My car will be done Wednesday...so they gave me a free
loaner...
It's a Buick Encore. Nice, but I sure miss my
big old truck!!!!!
Then off to the health food store... The clerk was really nice. I had on a black hoodie with USMC on the front and he asked if my grandson was a Marine. HUH???? Sigh... old is old. I told him, no, I married a Marine and gave birth to one! HE congratulated me and said his grandfather and father were both Marines! Cool. http://sunshinefoodandvitamin.com/
A couple friends told me about getting the melatonin pill.
I tend to wake in the middle of the night and stay awake for 2-3 hours.
This might do the trick and get me back to sleep. We'll see. I will let you
know.
MELATONIN OVERVIEW INFORMATION
Melatonin is a hormone found naturally in the
body. Melatonin used as medicine is usually
made synthetically in a laboratory. It is most commonly available in pill form,
but melatonin is also available in forms that can be placed in the cheek or
under the tongue. This allows the melatonin to be absorbed directly into the
body.
People use melatonin to adjust the body’s internal clock. It is used for jet lag, for adjusting sleep-wake cycles in people whose daily work schedule changes (shift-work disorder), and for helping blind people establish a day and night cycle.
Melatonin is also used for the inability to fall asleep (insomnia); delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS); insomnia associated with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); insomnia due to certain high blood pressure medications called beta-blockers; and sleep problems in children with developmental disorders including autism, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disabilities. It is also used as a sleep aid after discontinuing the use of benzodiazepine drugs and to reduce the side effects of stopping smoking.
Some people use melatonin for Alzheimer’s disease, ringing in the ears, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, migraine and other headaches, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bone loss (osteoporosis), a movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia(TD), epilepsy, as an anti-aging agent, for menopause, and for birth control.
Other uses include breast cancer, brain cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, head cancer, neck cancer, and gastrointestinal cancer. Melatonin is also used for some of the side effects of cancer treatment (chemotherapy) including weight loss, nerve pain, weakness, and a lowered number of clot-forming cells (thrombocytopenia).
It is also used to calm people before they are given anesthesia for surgery.
The forms of melatonin that can be absorbed through the cheek or under the tongue are used for insomnia, shift-work disorder, and to calm people before receiving anesthesia for surgery.
Sometimes people apply melatonin to the skin to protect against sunburn.

How does it work?
Melatonin’s main job in the body is to regulate night and day cycles or
sleep-wake cycles. Darkness causes the body to produce more melatonin, which
signals the body to prepare for sleep. Light decreases melatonin production and
signals the body to prepare for being awake. Some people who have trouble
sleeping have low levels of melatonin. It is thought that adding melatonin from
supplements might help them sleep.
Then off to Safeway for fresh veggies, cat food, dog treats,
wine, and some 'extras' for some crazy recipe I may come up with!
Dinner was reruns while I watched the
Colts/Giants....
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

November 4th
The General Election is always the first Tuesday in November
It's a revolution... a peaceful one, where majority rules!!
Once every four years, we get the opportunity to elect a new
president. Every six years, we elect our U.S. senators. U.S. congressman are
elected every two years. This peaceful revolution, allows us to retain good
elected officials, and overturn those whose performance is poor, or whose
beliefs do not match the majority. While Democracy may not be perfect, it's
better than any other type of government on the planet. And, it offers us
freedoms and safeguards that do not exist in many other countries.
Our founding fathers had the wisdom to create a government of the
people, by the people, and for the people. It is every American's right and
privilege, to vote for our government officials. So, we hope you exercise your
right on this day, to vote for the candidate of your choice.
While apathy and discontent can creep into even the best of
societies, we believe that makes it more important for us TO VOTE.
Please exercise your inalienable right and go out and
vote!
