Good 48º sunny clear morning. Haven't had the AC on for a few
days, but the heat is coming back. Joy. A few small lightening fires were
detected here after the thunderboomers on Monday and Tuesday.
This will put a lump in your throat.... or tears in your
eyes... it will make your chest swell with pride. Why John Wayne loved
America~
My neighbor Frank was telling me about how fast a UPS truck came up our
road recently (not my pal Dave) and his grandchildren were out and their dogs
and it scared them all. He and Cindy yelled at the driver. So, I ordered some
heavy metal signs and Frank got them put up. Let's hope this works! This one as
you come off the main road...
... and this closer to Frank and Cindy's house...
Since yesterday was National Tequila Day I had a shot, in honor of my

Here is a quick and easy and good side
dish...
CORN TOSS
1 T. olive oil
1 small sweet onion, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
2 ears of corn on the cob, kernels removed
1 large zucchini, sliced
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 t. black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese,
divided
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add onions and red peppers, cook and stir 3 minutes. Stir in corn and zucchini, cook and stir 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender. Remove from heat. Stir in parsley, black pepper, and 2 T cheese. Top with remaining cheese.

Here is the easiest way I have found to remove
the corn kernels... the cob sits right on the end and the kernels fall into the
bundt pan!
I got my appointment for my root canal. Joy.
The gal, Linda, I talked to at the office is from So.Cal and her husband lived
on Muscatel in Temple City. Went to TC high and his folks owned Howie's Ranch
Market in San Gabriel on San Gabriel Blvd just south of Duarte Rd!
She said their first house was behind the
Driftwood Dairy off Lower Azusa! Small world. Our house was only a couple blocks
away...
All I know. Happy TGIF. Nuff said. Ciao.
