Good 54º cloudy morning.
Interesting, today is my oldest sister's birthday. Hmmmm...
don't even know if she's still alive. Never hear from her children or her! Long story. Anyway, if she's still above ground she's 85.

I saw this recipe for "Chicken Zucchini Poppers" and decided
to make it with ground turkey. Original recipe: 1# ground chicken, 2 c grated
zucchini, 2-3 green onions sliced, 3-4 t. cilantro minced, 1 clove garlic, 1 t
salt, 1/2 t. pepper, optional 3/4 t cumin, olive oil for cooking. Mix all (will
be wet). Heat pan, drizzle in olive oil. Use small scoop and cook meatballs 8-10
minutes at a time, turning to brown. Serve with guacamole, salsa, or fav dip.
I made the meatballs two nights ago ... used, as I said,
ground turkey, added minced canned garlic, dry cilantro leaves, dried chives,
and TJ's 12 Spice... and of course the grated zucchini....
I mixed it all up and put it in a zip bag until time to cook...
When I cooked the turkey mixture I added in a few leftover mushrooms that were in the fridge...
While they cooked I mixed up some Ro-Tel and some Ruffles Bacon
Dip...
When I plated it I spooned the dip around the edges.
WONDERFUL!!!!!! Moist and very tasty!
Last night I made a hamburger with this mixture and Raman "buns"...
pictures of that later....
Got caught up on a couple things yesterday. Today is Rogue River's National
Rooster Crow. People from all over bring their roosters and also participate in
the "I can crow like a rooster" contest. The parade is at 10. Later this
afternoon PJ and I will go into town and look at the booths and art work.
Yesterday afternoon I ran 5 miles. (giggle) I drove the golf
cart and Dude ran...
Down by my gate the neighbor has put two goats. They are new
and "chat" (baaaa baaaa) with me but are afraid of Dude... so they stand way
back when he's out there.. and watch him! Don't know their names yet. Tried giving them a dog cookie but they didn't eat it. Surprised me. Thought goats ate EVERYTHING!
Such a pretty day yesterday... got REALLY windy in the
afternoon though. But after hearing about all the giant hail, tornados, and
flooding elsewhere, I'm happy.
Watched a new show I had recorded called Brooklyn Taxi. Interesting. This
NY cop gets her driving privileges suspended, arrests a taxi driver, believes
his story and promises to get him released. He promises to drive her anywhere
when she's on duty. Different.

Another of Lynn's blonde man jokes:
A blonde man spies a letter lying on his doormat.
It says on the envelope "DO NOT BEND ".
He spends the next 2 hours trying to figure out how to pick it up.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

Insurance Awareness Day
(That's my boy!)
Insurance
Awareness Day has got to be one of
your top holidays, right!? Now, at this point, one must be asking... Why
Insurance Awareness Day? Good question.
Insurance,
be it home, auto or life insurance, offers you peace of mind that if something
happens, you will be financially protected. Of course when it comes to life
insurance, if something happens, you won't be around to worry about the
outcome.
Insurance
is a gamble. If you buy it, you're gambling that something will go wrong. If you
don't buy it, you're gambling that something will not happen.
Were
not sure what you should do to enjoy and appreciate this day. We are certain
what the insurance companies would like you to do today........
The
Origin of Insurance Awareness Day:
Our
research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. But, you can be
certain that insurance companies had a little something to do with the
origination of this
day.

Those poppers look GOOD.
Gerry liked the photos of the barn and goats.
Thanks L. Thanks Gerry. The mixture with the zucchini could be made with beef or chicken or pork also. The zucchini makes it very juicy and tender. I'm going to try a couple more things with it. xo
Sad about your sister. There are two in our dd group with that situation.
You never cease to amaze me with your food concoctions. You are a natural talent!
Happy Insurance Awareness Day Brian! Love my State Farm! Glad I have always had them. They have ALWAYS been there for us! They are the only company who will sell us home owners insurance because of where we live.
XOXO Trisha
