..................read about him. Fascinating!

1995)

Another
pie.....
Pre-made
crusts, 8oz Ricotta cheese, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup Parmesan cheese, 3
eggs, garlic/herb seasoning, bunch of asparagus - chopped, about 3 big handfuls
of spinach (sauteéd and drained well), bunch of radishes (if you have never
tried cooked radishes - they are GOOD! if not, use grape tomatoes cut in half),
1½ cups chopped ham (or cooked chicken, or cooked beef .....), your favorite hot
sauce (mine is Frank's Red Hot mixed with a cube of melted butter per
jar)....
Mix the eggs,
cheeses, yogurt, seasonings, in mixer. Fold in the asparagus, radishes, spinach,
and ham. Put top crust on and then drizzle with hot sauce. Make vent cuts in top
crust. Bake 350º about 1 hr 15 min (or until brown on top). Let sit 15 minutes
before cutting. YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
Bruiser to the vets yesterday. Kathy at the
kennel thought he might have tape worm from what she observed. They get them
from fleas. Although Bruise is given flea/tic meds every month he did kill and
partially eat a ground squirrel just before I left....... he got tested for that and HIV, given pill for HIV prevention, given meds for tapeworm, had claws trimmed. Not happy, but happy to be back home and such a love. Cats get HIV from feral cats who are generally the carriers and they get it from saliva when in a fight with another cat. An ounce of prevention is good since he does go roaming around.
Back to the trip....
Left here Friday morning with my little traveling
gnome. Let's see if I can remember his name.... Oh yes, Gnotty
Gnome!
Got as far as South Medford and the rain
started..
I couldn't believe how little snow was on
Shasta!
Passing through 'my town' on the way
south...
Linda and Andy's (Jerry's USMC pal) was my first
stop in Woodland, CA. Their house was probably built about 1905.
Woodland is an historic town with many many old
beautiful houses. Also, they have nutty names for some alleys......
Linda had cold wine waiting! Andy was one of
Jerry's BFFs and she is one of mine.
She fixed a great dinner and she made a super
breakfast in the morning sending me off to Covina.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday.
Ciao.

Sue, I so admire that you take off on such a long road trip all by yourself. I can't see myself doing that. Scary to me. What a nice way to welcome you after a long drive, chilled white wine and a nice dinner.
I see you are back in the cooking yummy food mode.
I learn so much from your blog. Did not know that animals could get HIV.
Happy Birthday to Jack, Aaron and the others!
Hugs, Trisha
Thanks T. Yes, interesting that cats can get HIV. Cooking is my passion, along with taking pictures, and DRINKING WINE! LOL. On this mission to lose weight it's not easy shopping and being around all the good smelling fattening foods! Trying to be strong! xoxo
What a delightful post!
Thank you for the morning entertainment.
