Good 42º gonna be a cloudy day again morning.
This came from my friend Ann Ramirez (LASD ret) .... good info
here... and if we all adhere to buying USA then it might just work
out....
Tomorrow's schedule and Monday night...
My Patriots have a bye and will play on the 18th. Monday night
football. As for the game between the Raiders and the Giants...I hope they both lose!!!!!
Thinking up new things for dinner is fun. I took some Mexican Infused
(Uncle Ben's) rice and cooked that in the rice cooker.
Then I cut up veggies (green beans, mini squashes, grape tomatoes) and some
previously cooked chicken thighs...
I heated a pan and added olive oil and sauteéd everything.
...adding in some garlic powder, sea salt, fresh ground pepper... toss and
sauté for 2-3 min, put on lid and let soften...
Serve on the rice.... OMGOOD!!!
Yesterday I got my new dishwasher. Have been without for several years.
Finally did it! Out with the old...
It was put on the porch. On the top were mouse droppings. (Not unusual in
the country.... they like to get in where the insulation is! There was also a
dead mouse under it when he pulled it out. ICK.) So, the Bruise was laying on
the porch and I said, "Hey, can you smell those mouse droppings?" This cat ...
OMG, he stood up, looked up, and then jumped on tope of the dishwasher!! I guess
I'm going to have to be careful if he can understand what I say!!!!
.... and in with the new!
These cartoons are going around. HILARIOUS!

National Scrapple Day
It's dictionary defined as "cornmeal mush made with the meat and broth of
pork, seasoned with onions, spices and herbs and shaped into loaves for slicing
and frying." The word, scrapple originates from "scrap" or "scrappy" meaning
made up of odds and ends for that's exactly what it is—boiled, ground leftover
pig scraps with cornmeal and spices thrown in. Scrapple lovers think of it as
food for the gods. Anti-scrapplers consider it a culinary abomination.

My Mother made great scrabble. Fried scrabble with syrup for breakfast. Ed
THANK YOU for that link to the positive message on how we can improve the life of Americans despite professional political opinion that only the government can fix things.
LOL I am laughing at the description of the anti scrapple people. After reading John's grand father's recipe I totally agree! LOL They used every bit of that hog including the head! Turned me off of ever trying it even tho the modern version isn't made with the scraps. John loves it but I have never made it for him. He mom used to.
Love that the Bruiser is such a smart kitty. He's got "street smarts" Right? lol Happy for you that you got your new dishwasher!
XOXO Trisha
Ed, another friend told me his wife makes scrapple with leftover turkey from Thanksgiving. Sounds like a good idea!
L, glad you liked that. We have to make an effort, that's for sure. xo
T, I'd look up a recipe, other than John's grandfather's and make him some with pork sausage. xo
