Good 31º burrrrrr morning! Looks like it's going to be clear
and cold for a few days.... although foggy or low clouds at the
moment.
Tonight is Thursday Night Football...
I was right about the rainfall... we did get an inch between
Tuesday and yesterday morning.
Grandson Jack, aka Doodle Bug, was in a couple of band performances
recently... one at Chaffey College and one at Ramona High. The bands and
cheerleaders were photographed by Charles Frey at www.freyphotos.com . I have gone to the
site and ordered a few of them... here's one of Jack with his drums... My
photos, sans the type over, will arrive in a week or so...
Another trip to Medford, or as we affectionately call it..
Methford! The sky was overly overcast...
I did some quick shopping at Costco... dummy me thinking because the
coupons aren't good until today that yesterday would be less crowded. HA! I was
unhappy they didn't have the dental chews I wanted and they apparently are not
carrying the Bear & Wolf Alaskan canned Pink Salmon any more! DANG!
So, did some research... the company in
Seattle has closed apparently. Amazon did have some, so ordered it. 12 cans.
Will have to savor it, as probably the last I'll ever get.
Historically this date..
1877 – Thomas
Edison announces his invention of the phonograph, a machine that can
record and play sound.
1980 – A
deadly
fire breaks out at the MGM Grand Hotel in Paradise, Nevada (now
Bally's Las Vegas). 87 people are
killed and more than 650 are injured in the worst disaster in Nevada
history.
And
births this date include....
.....
here is the hat Steve McQueen wore in the movie Tom Horn... with his signature
inside.... Jerry added the band and I added the feather! The 'sweat' is painted
on.
.....omg,
he's been married to Luci Arnaz since 1980!
I was watching Jay Leno Tuesday night (no, I don't stay up that late.. I
have east coast channels and watch it at 8:30pm!) .. and he had President GW and
Laura Bush on. I so enjoyed the show.
"Bushie" is
into watercolor painting now and is really quiet good. He did a painting of his
friend Jay and it's awesome! He also has painted his pets... dogs and cats...
here's one of a cat that could be Bruiser's twin!
Dinner was quick and easy last night.. you know I LOVE Progresso soups.. so
cut up some of the leftover beef roast and added it to a can of 'savory
vegetable' along with some mozzarella cheese and cream....
SOOOOO GOOD! Hit the spot on a cold night while I watched two episodes of
Chicago Fire. (one of my favs)
Today is the birthday of the Shirley Low, wife of Wayne Low (SEB
Motors...ret yet Wayne?) HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRLEY!
All I know. Happy Thursday. Nuff said. Ciao.

Gingerbread Day
.... and for your sillies who still smoke....
THE GREAT AMERICAN SMOKE OUT DAY
When : Third Thursday of the month
Great American Smokeout Day is today. Finally kick the habit.
The goal of this special day is quite obvious: to get people to quit smoking,
resulting in fewer health problems, and less cancer and emphysema deaths
resulting from smoking and secondary smoke.
Quitting smoking is not an easy task. Often(usually), it takes repeated
efforts. That's okay, as long as you keep trying until you finally succeed. The
health benefits, and the prospect of a longer life are crystal clear.
The American Cancer Society encourages all smokers to give up the "butt"
today. Join millions of other Americans today and take a big step to a happier,
healthier, longer life.
.... and besides you will smell a hell of a lot better!!!!! I can't believe the cost of cigarettes. OMG, you could have so many other neat things besides smokes!!!!

Absolutely perfect blog.
Loved the Leno interview- I believe History will be kinder to our former President than some of his contemporaries were. I like that he keeps his nose out of current events. As much as I would like to know his opinion- it is better for this nation that he holds his tongue.
There has to be at least one comment, so here it is.
