Good 36º (in a rut) morning. Ice on the barn roof, low lying
fog. BORING............
10-25... do you realize what you have to do between now and
12-25!
Took this a year ago today.... with my KEEP OUT Halloween tape on the
door...
So so so sooooo miss my Maggie girl!
Reese Witherspoon is filming a movie up here in Ashland... the movie is
called Wild...about a female making a trek along the Pacific Crest Trail alone
... Reese plays Cheryl Strayed (is that a pun?)
"Funny to see this!", Strayed wrote on Facebook, "Me and Reese side by side
as 'Cheryl in 1995 on the PCT.' In my defense, I didn't have a hair, makeup and
wardrobe crew with me."
"Wild" is Strayed's tale of discovery in the face of personal loss. She set out alone as a young woman on the PCT and hiked 1,100 miles from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon and into Washington. Witherspoon optioned the film rights before the book was even published.

Yesterday I went out and took pictures of the work Martin had done.... all
the bush trimming etc. Dude had fun running and sniffing in the pasture..
My mountain from down by the barn....
Dinner was an odd combination .. Brown rice and Tabouli (Bulgar wheat,
parsley, onion, sea salt, lemon, & garic) cooked in my rice cooker. In the
steam basket I put peeled garlic (smash head with heel of hand, cut off end of
each clove, put in jar with lid and shake for a minute or so until all skin
comes off) and some Costco artichoke/garlic/mozzarella sausage.....
I re-hydrated some dried mushrooms with water and garlic sea salt...
I diced up the sausage, a shallot, the garlic cloves, couple
tomatoes....
All that and the Goya Pigeon Peas went into the frying pan with the cooked
rice and Taboli....with olive oil.... and heated.
Then I added in some simmer sauce....
REALLY REALLY good!!!!
Last night's score.... funny .....

worst things about Cuba being an Adam Henry is that the cigar smokers don't get
to savor those awesome Cuban stogies!
We used to go to
Rau's down on Beverly near Vermont to get Jerry's cigars. Hand rolled with Cuban
tobacco by Cuban ladies! And they had the wildest coffee they served us. It was
only about a shot glass full, but it kept you pumped up the rest of the day!

World pasta day, your kind of day!
That little puppy looked just like Chaka when she was a pup. Cute.
Your dinner creation looked great. You took some time putting that together. Lots of yummy stuff.
The Bruise looks quite comfortable and princess like in Maggie's bed. I know how much you miss her, so glad you have the crazy Dude to help with the loss.
Topper was always fun to watch. They need to put that on the Nick channel, or something.
Okay, enough ramble. Need to start my day. Hope your Friday is grand and we will chat later. xo

I 've never heard of Pigeon Peas!! Hmmm?
WILD was a really great read. I'm not a real fan of Reese Witherspoon but I can't wait to see the movie. Cheryl Strayed keeps us updated on fb on the filming and even asks for extras to be in the film in the Ashland area. How far is Ashland from you? Love t&g
Thanks BFF. Don't work too hard cleaning today!!! Have fun plant shopping. xo
Tammy, not a fan of Reese either, but she has done some cute movies. I want to see this one too. Ashland is about 35 miles from my house... just south of Medford. ox
"Leo G. Carroll, Host to said ghosts"! One of my very favorite all time shows!
"I am Woman, hear me roar"! We had it on 8 track and the boys loved listening to her in the station wagon. (I think I tell you that every year! LOL)
I do believe Picasso was on drugs when he did his paintings! Weird to say the least!
Say, that photo from a year ago sat the Bruiser on Maggie's bed. How long have you had him anyway?
Again, your din din creation looked amazing! Don't know how you do it!!
XO Trisha
Let's see, Trish, I first saw Bruiser in my pasture in July of 2010. He started eating the food I set out in the bed of the golf cart in April of 2012. He let me pet him the first time 7-16-2012.. and shortly after that he came in and out of the house...sleeping on my bed after Harley died.... I decided to celebrate his birthday on 4-14 and figure his birthdate is 2007... just after Jerry died. Sent to me by by Dew! xo
