Good 37º somewhat cloudy full moon out there
morning.
Some departments have a 10-18 code, but we didn't.
For your folks over 60, I found out today that if you had chickenpox and
need a shingles shot, which is highly recommended, they are covered by Medicare
Part D.... if not then at our local Health Dept I can get the vaccine for $207.
Guess I'll be getting one of those next month! I also checked with my doctor's
office and they charge $216.
Yesterday I infused some extra virgin olive oil with garlic,
onion, and red pepper. I use the dried because if you use fresh it will develop
botulism .... First decide how much you want to make. This amount of about 2
capfuls of dried garlic, two of the dried onion, and one of the red pepper
flakes will work with 2 wine bottles full....
Soak the garlic/onion/flakes in hot water until re-constituted. Drain
well.... let sit for some time and then pat with paper towels.
Next I pour the olive oil into the bottles to get the right amount... heat
to 170º.... stir in garlic/onion/flakes, take off heat and let sit for a few
hours to mix the flavors.
Strain the garlic/onion/peppers from the oil and bottle... I
never have refrigerated this and use it on so many things and to sauté with. I
use a liquor bottle pour spout for handy use...

My niece, MaryAnn whom I have not seen in YEARS... is 60 years old today! OMG.
How'd that happen????
And... Barry and Dawna are celebrating 44 years. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
KIDS!
Historically this date.....
....only 35 when she
died.
1867 – United
States takes
possession of Alaska after purchasing it
from Russia for $7.2 million.
Celebrated annually in the state as Alaska
Day
... this
was my Zenith transistor radio. I'd put it on the porch and listen to music
while I mowed the lawn (no power mower...push!)
1968 – The
U.S.
Olympic Committee suspends
Tommie
Smith and John
Carlos for giving a "black
power" salute during a victory ceremony at the Mexico
City games.
And
births this date include....
...married to Julie London over 40 years. She died one year after
Bobby.
.....sad....
Dinner was soup...
tomatoes, broccoli, 2 cans sliced mushrooms, great northern beans, 2 cartons
chicken stock, baby carrots, green beans, yellow bell pepper, shredded chicken I
had cooked in the enchilada sauce, parsley, Italian seasoning, Rosemary, thyme,
garlic sea salt... and I couldn't decide (since it was Pasta Day) which pasta to
use, finally settled on the tortellini.
Everything, except
the beans, went into the crockpot, low for 6 hours. I boiled the
beans, let them sit, and boiled them again. They were done! Yeah. So added them
to the soup. Better than soaking them all night when I decide to make soup and didn't do that!
Soup was AWESOMELY
GOOD!!!! Got lefeovers for today! Shared some with PJ and Dave.
Bill and Jeannie going to see Gravity with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in 3D today. Can't wait to hear if they liked it.
All I know. Happy
TGIF. Nuff said. Ciao.

No Beard Day
No Beard Day exists so you have a good reason to shave your beard.
I just don't like beards! Like moustaches, not beards!!
You've had a beard so long, that you don't know what you'd look like without one. And, your lady friend isn't so fond of it. Today brings the extra incentive you need, to shave it off and go without a beard for the first time in who knows when. So, bare it all and show off your chin. If you don't like it, you can always grow it back. Have a happy and clean-shaven No Beard Day !!

Wow, pretty pricey for a shingles shot, but I guess, hopefully, worth it!
Erin Moran, such a sad case.
I love infusing the olive oil like that. So delicious and I thank you for the lesson a couple of years ago!
Your soup looked delicious. Sure wish I lived next door. LOL
Will let you know about the movie, very anxious since I have not seen a 3D movie before. Ciao for now. xo
Jeannie
Hey BFF... you have a fun time today on your "date" with Billy Boy! As for the shot, I thought they were more expen$ive... aroung $350. Glad it's not. Will be getting mine. xo
Make the movie Gravity a MUST SEE.... !!
Becky and I are still talking about it and
think it is The best movie we've ever seen. Greg
Your photo of the soup reeled me in- Oh my, that looks delish!
But, Honey I would love to have your Moon photo hanging in my house! Wow! Love everything about it!!! Just fabulous! Love t&g
Thanks Tammy. I can send you the photo as an attachment on an email and you can copy it if you like. xo
Not many men have a good face and great grooming required for a beard. I'll do my best to get rid of my beard- George Clooney's is much more attractive.
It is always risky to present a movie on living people. It is pretty standard that someone- sometimes everyone- is always unhappy with their life turned into literature. But forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement??? To take the check and then complain afterwards always sounds hypocritical.
