Good 46º clear sunny will be hot again morning. Close to 90º yesterday.
Bout the same today. Glad to see the drizzle and low clouds in So. Cal helping
out that horrible Powerhouse fire!
Burned 32,000 acres already. Unbelievable. Containment is somewhere around
40-60% contained.
This link came from Lynn Helbing (ret LASD) a friend from back in the
Temple Station days in the 70's. Thanks Lynn! This video is awesome. People
drinking nickel pina coladas at a sidewalk vendor.... old cars.... such fun.
And you won't believe this..... a sculpture made from a 1953
Volkswagen Beetle !!! Just amazing!
Well, fuey, Maggie didn't get her mani/pedi yesterday. Vet's office called
and they had surgeries. So, we'll aim for Thursday.
Two birthdays today.. my friend Val Smullen from our JCRW group is
celebrating today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL!!!
And PatC's man, Tim Rosa is celebrating today also. Tim's still a puppy,
born when I was in high school. You're catchin' up though!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TIM!
Historically this date..
1896 – Henry Ford completes the Ford Quadricycle, his
first gasoline-powered automobile, and gives it a
successful test run.
1939 – Holocaust: The MS St. Louis, a ship
carrying 963 Jewish refugees, is denied
permission to land in Florida, in the United States,
after already being turned away from Cuba. Forced to return to Europe, more than 200 of its
passengers later die in Nazi concentration
camps.
1974 – During Ten Cent Beer Night,
inebriated Cleveland Indians fans
start a riot, causing the game to be forfeited to the Texas
Rangers.
2004 – Marvin Heemeyer's
eventually suicidal protest rampage with an improvised bulletproofed bulldozer
destroys 13 buildings in Granby, Colorado,
including the town hall.
Quite a mixed bag of births today... some good and a lot of very odd
people!
Births include...
(another ewwwwww.....)

Yesterday did some shopping, stopped at Post Office to mail stuff, Ace for
a new sprinkler, and then met up with Bill, Jeannie, Dale, and Bob at
Shenanigans yesterday for a glass of wine. On the way home bought a roasted
chicken. Dinner was tortilla, provolone cheese, jalapeno cream cheese, sweet/hot
chili sauce... heated and rolled up. GOOD!!!
TV and a nap in my chair!
All I know. Tucker's baseball game this evening. Nuff said. Ciao.

Well- Don't think we have to worry about 10-cent beer nights any longer):.
Went over the hill yesterday- the air quality from the fire is just awful.
When we were first married- an illegal alien almost made Gerry's blue Volkswagen into a ball. We got lucky- the car launched less than a foot from a pole.
I like Angelina Jolie's hair.
That poor man, Robert Hughes. Too bad they didn't have thyroid meds in those days. Glad to hear he had a good outlook and a kind spirit.
Love the yellow VW sculpture. Amazing.
Din din looked yummy!!
