Some Drizzle Lots of Wind ~ Sad Cat ~ Mini Squash & Shrimp ~ Cherry Cobbler

Good 48º somewhat cloudy morning.

Yesterday evening the clouds were threatening looking, but no rain, just wind. Had a very small amount of rain yesterday. Don't think it even showed up on my rain gauge.

From Life's Simple Pleasures:
"When a friend enjoys something you recommended."

Got this from Tammy and a couple other people. If you have or love cats, this will put a smile on your face...
( I LOVE this cat's face!)

Historically this date....
1974Police in Los Angeles, California, raid the Symbionese Liberation Army's headquarters, killing six members, including Camilla Hall.

....and a bunch of other stuff happened...

Births this date include...
1897Odd Hassel, Norwegian chemist, Nobel Prize laureate (d. 1981)
.... he's only here because of his very strange name!

1936Dennis Hopper, American actor and director (d. 2010)

1956Sugar Ray Leonard, American boxer and actor

1962Craig Ferguson, Scottish comedian, actor, and television host

Went running errands all over GP yesterday.... DMV for new registration for the motorcycle we gave Aaron (he lost registration!), beauty supply store for beauty supplies (lol), Wally Mart for coconut oil, Safeway for groceries, and to drop off vacuum cleaner bags to Leah to go with the vacuum cleaner she bought from me. I did even manage to find shrimp at Safeway from the USofA!!! I won't eat that stuff from Thailand or Viet Nam!! No way.

So, dinner was mini squashes sauteéd in infused EVOO and shrimp cooked in a variety of spices...chives, New Orleans Style Seafood seasoning, garlic powder, and Weber Roasted Garlic seasoning...

Then I added some Sweet Hot Chili sauce....

...and a couple dollops of Ricotta cheese....

OMGOOD!!!

All I know. Nuff said. TGIF. Ciao.

May 17th
National Cherry Cobbler Day
1 can (20 ounces) reduced-sugar cherry pie filling
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups reduced-fat biscuit/baking mix
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar, divided
1/2 cup fat-free milk
2 tablespoons reduced-fat margarine, melted

In a large bowl, combine pie filling and extract; spread into a 9-in. deep-dish pie plate. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the baking mix and 2 tablespoons sugar. In another bowl, combine the milk and margarine. Stir milk mixture into dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.

Drop dough by spoonfuls over warmed pie filling. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 20-25 minutes until topping is golden brown. Serve warm. Yield: 8 servings.

Amen. I am absolutely tickled that Trisha loves our housekeeper.
Wish your spread wasn't such a distance so you could learn the joys of her service.

Cherry cobbler- after last night's dinner I am going to pretend I don't know that or I'll only be able to get out fully opened double doors.

As for the cobbler, it hit my drool button too, but my pal Patty gave me a recipe for pineapple pie that is next on the "to make" list! xo

Oh I just love summer squash and the rest too. You can't always find those in the store. I guess they are seasonal. I use those three and layer with onion, butter, garlic and cheese. Oh my good!
Yes, I too wish you could experience Rosalina. What a treasure! In fact my neighbor two doors up asked for her contact info. Great!
