Good 51º cloudy morning.
Yesterday morning....
And today...
Breakfast.... pizza rerun, eggs, orange, coffee.
From my friend Patty.... this is really interesting. The History of The
World in 2 Minutes.... (some images were very emotional for me)
This from my friend, ret. LASD, Patty Rodriguez... so true!
1. The reason a dog has so many friends is that, he wags his tail instead
of his mouth!
2. A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves
himself.
3. The average dog is a nicer person that the average person.
4. If your dog is fat, you aren't getting enough exercise.
5. If you've never tasted soap, you've never washed a dog.
6. Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.
7. If you think a dog can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your
pocket, and then give him only two of them.
I was going to spray the weeds/grass on Monday, but the winds came up and
it wasn't possible. So I puttered in the house and infused more olive oil with
garlic/onion/red pepper... If you haven't tried this, you should. It's SO
good! Drizzle on any foods, salads ... mmmmm.... Cook with it. Mix with lemon juice and mayonnaise for a spectacular dressing.
For two bottles (I use old wine bottles) measure the olive oil and put into
a pot on the stove. I used a couple capfuls of the dried garlic and onion and
about half a capful of the red pepper flakes. Add hot water to them so they
reconstitute. Drain them well and dry with a paper towel. Bring oil to 170º,
remove from heat, add onion/garlic/pepper and let sit until room temp. Strain
with coffee filter and pour into bottles. Keeps fine un refrigerated. I use it
on/in everything!
Historically this date....
1886 – Pharmacist John Pemberton first
sells a carbonated beverage named "Coca-Cola" as a patent medicine.
1976 – The rollercoaster Revolution,
the first steel coaster with a vertical loop, opens at Six Flags Magic
Mountain.
1984 – Corporal Denis Lortie enters the Quebec National
Assembly and opens fire, killing three and wounding 13. René Jalbert, sergeant-at-arms of the
assembly, succeeds
in calming him, for which he will later receive the Cross of
Valour.
....................if you can believe this: "Lortie was paroled in
December 1995. He now lives in Quebec and works in construction." Canadians are
just as stupid as Americans when it comes to letting the bad guys go!
And births this date include...
When working for UPS I delivered a package to his 7740 Mulholland Drive home. He
drove out just as I arrived and waved to me. This was about 1980. His butler and
one of his twin sons, Gunnar or Matthew (about 13 at the time)
answered the door. He also had about
15 dogs in his yard, all different, all friendly! The home had once been owned by Errol Flynn, then by Ricky, then apparently Helen Hunt, and now Justin Timberlake.
Dinner last night was the zucchini recipe I put on yesterday's blog, Tyson
Panko breaded chicken tenderloin, and avocado w/ ranch dressing. I sliced the
zucchini, added olive oil (garlic-onion infused!) garlic powder, sliced grape
tomatoes, provolone, grated yellow/white cheese, sea salt, pepper. Asian spice
on the chicken. Baked 350º for 30 min.
LOVED the zucchini!!!!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Girls's lunch at Bohemian today. Happy Hump Day. Ciao
