Yesterday morning early I had a call from Carol that Bill
Hilton had passed away about 10pm on Tuesday. Bill was an interesting guy. His
father was in the German Army.... WWI:
He had Bill enlist in Hitler's Youth Corps and from there Bill
went into the German Army during WWII.
In this photo, 3rd from right.... He fought in Italy and was
shot through and through his upper legs. He spent time in a hospital there. He
said wine was snuck in to those being cared for....
Bill with his maternal grandmother...
And Bill out of the Army....
He told me once that he was told the Americans were the ones killing
the Jews. When he found out the real truth he left Germany, came to the US and
never went back. He was a good neighbor. He helped us out with a lot of things
when we first moved here. He was kind hearted and LOVED his dogs! RIP
Bill.

Yesterday I did errands... post office (found out that Wednesday night the
Cave Junction post office burned to the ground), stopped to see Tim Alden in his
new leather shop in town. He makes boots and chaps etc. Interesting:
Yeshua's blood???? "At-One-Ment" ????
Then to Safeway for a few items, Brian's office for a quick visit, then to
Jeannie and Bill's.
Chaka was her charming self...
Jeannie and I had some wine and enjoyed the beautiful view from their
deck...
... while I was taking pictures Mr. Lizzzzard was watching..
Bill drilled some holes in the sign I bought at Boatnik.. it will go up
soon...

Good morning,
So sorry about Bill. Sounds like he had quite an interesting life. Always hard to lose someone you know.
Thanks for the visit yesterday, and the goodies from you and Brian. Brian if you read this, Bill loves his new toy and I thank you for mine!
Your "friend" on the rail looks cute. Glad he didn't fall over.
I'm with you, Yeshua's blood? Got me scratchin!!
Looks like you will have to be creative tonight so we can see your food. You know how we all miss that when you don't post last nights meal.
Have a wonderful day. chat later.
xo
Jeannie
Thanks BFF. I enjoyed our visit yesterday too. Yes, will have to cook something tonight. Er, aftere all the outside work I need to do. xo
RIP, Bill. The picture with your grandmother is simply wonderful. Your life story is one which exemplifies the importance of a free press.
Love the sign):-
I agree L. xo
What a great pictorial tribute to Bill. I looked at all those young men in Hitler's army and wondered how many of them knew the evil of the Nazi's at the time. If Bill didn't know the truth I'll bet many of them didn't.
Love Jeannie and Bill's view. Nice.
Funny how your readers are hooked on your dinner pictures and recipes. :)
XO Trisha
A dear friend of mine, Erika, was born in Germany and was told how awful the Jews were. She finally met an elderly Jewish grandmother and said, "She was just like my grandmother". She didn't understand why they were lied to about Jews. Guess the same with Bill. But then look how we are lied to HERE! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......
