Good 53º
morning. Will stay nice for a few hours then warm up.
Can you believe it's the LAST DAY OF JULY already~!!!!
Yesterday I dropped my truck at the dealership for a check up and oil
change. Also got an estimate for tires. UGH. Jeannie met me and we went shoe
shopping, didn't buy anything. The Dollar Store and each spend a whopping $3. To
the Kitchen Store and just looked at everything. Then we were going to the
Mediterranean but dang they were closed. New summer hours "closed on Monday"!
Next choice was Blondie's.
Jeannie had wine
and I had a 'mango habañero martini' ... AWESOME!
We ordered off the appetizer menu. Jeannie had coconut shrimp
which she LOVED!
......and I had the Mediterranean combo platter (eggplant hummus, Kalamata
olives, provolone wrapped around prosciutto, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and pita
bread). All YUMMY~
'Deeewayne Honey' Preimsberger sent this to me....
Beauty and the Beak..... wonderful story!
Maggie had an appointment with the vet later yesterday. She has a blockage
in her nasal passage. None of her tests ever came back as malignant so we opted
for no surgery. He also said, dogs who have that nasal surgery don't live as
long as those who don't! She got some meds to help reduce swelling. She's having
a hard time breathing unless she opens her mouth.
Then I remembered I left my camera in Jeannie's car so Maggs and I made a
trip to their house. I was poured a cold glass of wine and we sat in the gazebo
by the pond. Maggie and Chaka got to know each other.... and Maggs enjoyed the
cool spot for a rest...
Historically this date...
1941 – Holocaust: under instructions
from Adolf Hitler, Nazi official Hermann Göring,
orders SS General Reinhard Heydrich to
"submit to me as soon as possible a general plan of the administrative material
and financial measures necessary for carrying out the desired final solution of the Jewish question."
..........there are just no words to describe what sick monsters these people were, Hitler in particular.
2007 – Operation Banner, the
presence of the British Army in Northern Ireland, and
the longest-running British Army operation ever, comes to an end.
And births this date include....
Mr. Raccoon showed up here the night before last and ate all of Baby's
food. So, last night I brought his food in and maybe the racoon will leave now!
Dr. Ron, the vet, said they have a lot of parasites and we don't want them
around!
All I know. Eye appointment for reading glasses today. Nuff said.
Ciao.
