Happy Marriage Secret ~ Lobster Ravioli & Roasted Vegetables ~ Laura ~ Scotch!

Good 55º somewhat cloudy morning. MAYBE thunderboomers later.... today or tomorrow or Saturday or Sunday! You know, weather reporting is a fine science!

More of Ike's puns...
I know a guy who's addicted to brake fluid. He says he can stop any time.

How does Moses make his tea? Hebrews it.

The following is hilarious. Jeannie and Bill sent it.. because her name is Maxwell! Actually Bill sent it... and said, "a Maxwell is a Maxwell!" And, yes, he used pink font!

Remember the Olympics opening ceremony will be this evening! Set your Tivo or whatever you have so you don't miss it!

Dinner last night was great. Lobster stuffed ravioli and roasted vegetables....

I sliced some fingerling potatoes, put them in a zip bag with olive oil, garlic powder and a bit of sea salt. Onto a cookie sheet they went and into a 450º oven for 10 minutes. I put broccoli, green beans, chunky cabbage, sweet peppers, and thick sliced tomato into the bag with more olive oil, garlic powder, and sea salt. Out comes the cookie sheet and the rest of the vegetables were added, reduce heat to 425º and roast for 15-20 minutes. Cook the ravioli, drain saving about 2T cooking water, add a couple spoonfuls of Cooking Cream and the ravioli back into the cooking pot. Let sit until vegetables are cooked. Serve...

Where The Heck Is Matt? ~ Broken Pipe ~ Sami/Atlas ~ Grilled Shrimp

Good 59º sunny morning. Got to 92º yesterday. HOT! Whine whine....

I got this email from my friends, Tally & Spencer Huntoon (LA Co Fire, ret) and the email said, " this will make you smile". It did! This funny cute happy guy, Matt Harding, goes around the world and dances with people. And if this video isn't enough, then click below on 'similar videos" below for more Matt!

What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Above, Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. The above video, the latest in a series of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. Happiness is frequently contagious -- few people are able to watch the above video without smiling.

Yesterday was two more blood tests and a back x-ray. Results back on potassium levels... they are good. Yeah. X-ray tech was a Brian. Nice guy.
The Rogue Valley Hospital, even though I've been there before (for Jerry's surgeries and my back surgery) is such a gorgeous place and EVERYONE is sooooo nice!

I got home and mowed the front grass. Then Mike Artoff, Artoff Plumbing

got here. He dug up where the water was coming to the surface in the garden and low and behold a broken pipe!

So Mike put in a new piece and a valve ....

After he turned the water back on, with the valve closed, he wanted me to run the kitchen water. Nope. No water. He turned on the valve, and voilá ...water! Interesting. Good thing he didn't listen to me (dud) when I said "cap it". LOL. Now there is lots more water pressure! Yeah!

Thanks Mike. Good job as always!

1964 – Sandra Bullock, American actress

Atlas is here until Saturday while his family is in Sun River, south of Bend Oregon. Brian has a State Farm meeting up there and the kids will go to the water park. Jen and Sami brought Atlas over last evening. I had bought olives at Costco and didn't realize I already had plenty so gave them to the olive lover, Sami! She and Tucker (and I'm sure Brian too!) like to put them on their fingers and eat them that way.

Atlas kept an eye on Baby....

Dinner was some skewered shrimp, drizzled with lemon flavored olive oil, and grilled on the Foreman grill. Along with the shrimp I had corn liberally slathered with artichoke/jalapeño  spread and bacon salt.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Thursday. Ciao.

Starting a Harley ~ Jackie Chan Audio Tester ~ Fresh Berry Dessert

Good 51º clear morning. Temps have sure stayed nice here. In the 80ºs .... Even sleep with a blanket at night.

OMG, got this video of a guy starting a Harley from Brian Cook (LASD ret) and it's a RIOT!!!! I laughed and laughed!

Yesterday went to the ENT doc. After a hearing test and pressure tests with Bobby Lee (who by the way looks just like Jackie Chan...

and was funny and really nice.) It was determined my hearing has not had any major loss...just normal due to aging. Then the doc examined me and told me the tests he performed indicated no fluid in inner ear! Another diagnosis shot to h*ll! (That's #3 by my former GP!) The nurse sprayed two different things into my nose. OMG! WHAT A HORRIBLE TASTE! That deadened the nasal passages and the throat. Doc put a "spaghetti" size camera up my nose and down my throat. UGH. Said everything looks perfect! Whaaaaaaaaaaa?????????? Seems as though so far every test I have had shows all pieces and parts of me to be "perfect". Why am I dizzy (I know... some of you will say the reason is because my hair is blonde!) and why do I cough all the time?? We'll get to the bottom of this soon, I hope.

If you are interested in how this endoscopy is done, here is a video. You can watch it all or just the beginning of the procedure and then skip to about 8min 38seconds (moving the little button at the bottom) to see the end.

Historically this date....
1946 – At Club 500 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis stage their first show as a comedy team.

1978 – Louise Brown, the world's first "test tube baby" is born.

...........and a bunch of other stuff happened.

Births this date include.....
1894 – Walter Brennan, American actor (d. 1974)

1915 – Joseph Kennedy Jr., Elder brother of President John F. Kennedy (d. 1944)

1923 – Estelle Getty, American actress (d. 2008)

1967 – Matt LeBlanc, American actor

Here is an awesome and sooooooo easy dessert...

Take some strawberries and cut them up, add blueberries, add blackberries (or really, any kind of fresh berries you like) ... drizzle on some limoncello liquor ... stir in and refrigerate until time to eat. OMG!

All I know. Nuff said. Off to the lab for fasting blood test, potassium levels test, and back x-ray. Sigh............... Happy Hump Day.
