'Hemp' Lotion ~ EVOO al Limone ~ Quinoa Salad

Good 54º clear and soon to be hot morning. I think we hatched a 94º yesterday. Was cooled down by 9pm when I opened up the house. Slept well.

I was telling Jeannie that the "hemp" lotion Lacy used on my feet and legs when I had the pedicure and massage was really good and made my skin sooooo soft. Jeannie had an extra bottle and gave me some.
... and it smells great! I have never had any hemp product, ever. I like this! It is gluten free, 100% vegan, contains hemp seed oil, shea butter, and glycerin. (you can buy it on Amazon.com or maybe your local beauty supply) On top of that, there has never been anything in my house with a cannabis leaf on it either!!! Hmmmm....

The 'do' isn't really working for you!

So, dinner was simple.... not feeling all that terrific, so cooking is a task. Anyway, in my rice cooker I cooked quinoa. It's like rice, but so much better for you! I let it cool and added chopped diced celery, green bell pepper, sweet yellow-orange-and red peppers, tomatoes, carrots, fresh mozzarella cheese balls and some of the oil and parsley they were in, and baby spinach. Then I drizzled in EVOO al Limone.

Which is extra virgin olive oil from olives pressed with fresh Italian lemons. All made, packaged, and sold from Casina Rossas in Italy. I got mine from the Rogue Creamery in Central Point, BUT you can buy it on Amazon.com:

Ok, so I also added splashes of Pomegranate balsamic vinegar, sea salt, citrus pepper, & garlic powder. The balsamic comes from Napa.

I got mine at Jacksonville Mercantile....

It was awesome and light and perfect for a hot day! Salad and a glass of cold wine. Wonderful!

Clean Car ~ Elk's Winos ~ Frank & Evan ~ Marion

Good 51º somewhat cooler morning. Was HOT yesterday. Had to go into GP to have my orthotics checked. Derrik said I'm doing great. I noticed the pain in my foot is pretty much gone now at night. Yeah!

Then ... guess where I went.....

.................then met up with Dee, Jeannie, and Bill at the Elks for a glass of wine. Janelle, the bartendress, took our picture... on the left is Ron Schwartz, former Chief of Police of GP.
Ron just walked up when we were posing, and he said, "you can chop me off the picture" ! No, Joe. We missed Dale, he was working at the hospital.

When I was heading out the other day I saw Frank and his adorable grandson, Evan, out for a ride.... I took this picture and then forgot to put it on the blog. Evan will have a baby sister in a couple of months.

Today is my sis's birthday. Marion died in May of 2004 from leukemia. I miss her dearly and daily! Picture in 1954....

Lemon Cake ~ 200 Sheriff Badges ~ Californica? ~ Herbie & Jabby ~ FRENCH FRIES! Mmmmmm Animal Fries!

Good 60º slightly cloudy (wispy clouds) morning. Slept well again last night, but didn't sleep til 8:30, only 7:30! It should also be in the low 90º's again today. The satellite view shows some clouds wandering over...

I made another experimental cake yesterday, but not sharing the recipe until it's perfected. You use lemon cake and lemon icing. Jeannie made it and it 'crawled' out of the cake pan and was all over the oven. We found out that if you use a mixer it will do that, the batter ingredients must be stirred in until incorporated. It's GOOD, mind you, but stuck to the pan in a couple places even though I used Pam and flour. Also, it fell a little. BUT, the taste is phenomenal!

OMG..... Just one more reason I never liked Baca ... Sheriff Caca.. His main concern is political, not the department, not the deputies, not the citizens. It's all for his own political gain.

I saw this quail out on the fence.... thinking to myself, self this is not a Bobwhite. This one is different.

...and after a little research I found out he was a: Valley Quail or...

Callipepla californica (califonica!!! LOL)

Valley QuailThe valley quail is a native species originally confined to the counties bordering California and Nevada. They were transplanted to other areas of the state so long ago (beginning as early as 1870) that most Oregonians do not realize they were introduced in most of Oregon.

Historically this date...
1923 – The Hollywood Sign is officially dedicated in the hills above Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. It originally reads "Hollywoodland " but the four last letters are dropped after renovation in 1949.

.....LOL, it used to be a make-out spot up there next to the sign for me and a certain boyfriend of mine...he had a black 1950 Ford ... or was it a '49?  and his name was Mike (that's all you get, Wilsonites!) You can't drive up there now. It's blocked off. But, what a view it was!!!

1990 – An earthquake with its epicenter in Afghanistan results in the greatest number of fatalities in a mountaineering accident in High Asian mountains when an avalanche kills 43 climbers in Camp I on Pik Lenina (Lenin Peak).

And births this date include....
1928 – Bob Crane, American actor (d. 1978)
.... murdered

1940 – Patrick Stewart, English actor
... Captain Picard!

1942 – Harrison Ford, American actor

1950 – George Nelson, American astronaut

1988 – Steven R. McQueen, American actor
........grandson of Steve!

I put this on my blog last July 13th and it just makes me smile and giggle. Hope you enjoy it, again~
