From Mr. Food...
You're gonna want to bring your appetite and a loaf of crusty bread to the table when you serve this Old-World Peasant Soup. This soup is full of fresh veggies, beans, and, for old-world flavor, some kielbasa. It's a hearty, fill-ya-up soup that's sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, peeled, cut in half, and thinly sliced
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 (15.8-ounce) cans cannellini beans, not drained
- 1 pound kielbasa sausage, thinly sliced
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- in a soup pot, heat oil over medium-high heat. Saute onion, carrot, and celery 6 to 8 minutes, or until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients except spinach and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in spinach and serve.

2020 tax filing deadline is July 15 for 2019 tax returns due to the impact of Covid19.
April 15th of each year is National Tax Day. In the United States, the term “tax day” refers to the day on which individual income tax returns are due to the federal government. The day may also refer to April 15th for state tax returns.
The Federal income tax filing deadline is midnight on April 15th of every year, with extensions occurring when the 15th lands on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday. In those circumstances, the returns are due the first succeeding day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday.
These dates can differ depending on the residence as well. Some years, due to extenuating circumstances such as natural disasters, more significant extensions have been granted by the Federal Government.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Complete and file your taxes. Whether you prepare your taxes yourself or have a professional prepare them for you, only a couple of things are certain in life – death, and taxes. Or so Benjamin Franklin once said.
NATIONAL TAX DAY HISTORY
Income tax was first collected in The United States in 1862 to fund the Civil War. It was deemed unconstitutional due to not being apportioned with conformity across the states. The United States once again enacted income tax with the 16th Amendment in 1913. At that time, the filing deadline was March 1. In 1918 the deadline was changed to March 15, and then in 1955, for the most recent change, the filing deadline was moved to April 15th. The day has come to be known as Tax Day.

Happy birthday Jackson! Great beard.
GOOD morning. Of all the things I have missed cooking, soup tops the list.
What a great list of important people and benchmarks.
Whoever supplies Walter Hudson with all that food was not a good person.
Thank you for the good start to the day.
Thank you, Lydia!! ox
Oh dear I hope I don't look like that Hudson guy when this shelter in place is over! LOL Really tho that's sad. How in the world does he afford all that food and who cooked it for him? Unbelievable! How does he walk to the bathroom?? Weird!
Happy birthday to Aaron and Jack! Can't believe Jack is already 21. I have several friends who has a birthday today too.
XO Trisha
That story about Hudson is certainly odd, Trish. I know, it's hard to believe how fast our kids and grandkids grow up!!! xo
