Throw Back Thursday ~ Picture of the Day ~ Hamburger University ~ Ranch Tater Tot Bake ~ National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Good 41º cloudy morning.

Throw Back Thursday ... 10 years ago, my Maggie and Harley sitting looking out the door. Both such sweet animals. So missed!

Yesterday cloudy and yes, geese on the barn roof!

Picture of the Day ...    😊

Interesting... Hamburger University!

Hamburger University is a 130,000-square-foot training facility of McDonald's, located in the West Loop of Chicago, Illinois. This corporate university was designed to instruct personnel employed by McDonald's in the various aspects of restaurant management. More than 80,000 restaurant managers, mid-managers and owner-operators have graduated from the university.

Prior to 2018, Hamburger University was situated on an 80-acre campus in Oak Brook, Illinois. Starting in 2017, McDonald's put up for sale or sold most of its Oak Brook campus.  Restaurant employees receive approximately 32 hours of training in their first month with McDonald's and more than 5,000 students attend Hamburger University each year. Founder Ray Kroc oversaw lessons at its beginning.

The university has 19 full time professors who are trained to teach in over 28 different languages. Over 300,000 students and future restaurant managers have graduated from Hamburger University. And it’s not as easy as you might think. According to a recent Bloomberg finding, Hamburger University is reportedly harder to get into than Harvard.

I found out something yesterday that made me laugh. I called our sanitation company and asked them , "what do I do with an old vacuum cleaner?" I am getting a new one. So, the customer service gal told me I can put it in my trash can. Or, if it didn't fit, I could put it next to the trash can on trash day. That would cost me an extra $10! OR.......... I can take it to their place in Grants Pass and that would cost me an extra $10! DUH........... I figured out  how to take it apart and it will fit in the trash can!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

Around the country, National Girls and Women in Sports Day is recognized by schools, organizations, and teams on the first Thursday in February.
Athletics play an important role in girls lives. Besides helping to establish a routine for a healthy, active lifestyle, sports build confidence, leadership skills and the ability to work with a team.
But there is so much more to participating in sports. Women who participated in sports in school are more likely to graduate from college. According to an EY study, women increase their odds of landing leadership positions when they have a background in athletics.
Girls develop lifelong valuable relationships during their sports careers, too.  It’s not just serious business.
It also doesn’t matter the sport. Whether girls choose to be a part of the volleyball team or prefer to aim for par or better in golf, the health, leadership, and academic benefits develop with each one.

HOW TO OBSERVE

Support girls and women athletics in your area.  Get involved. For more information on how visit Women Sports Foundation. Share how sports influenced your life.

NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY HISTORY

On February 4, 1987, President Ronald Reagan declared the first National Women in Sports Day in recognition of the history of women’s athletics. It also recognized the progress made by the Title IX amendment passed in 1972.

Good morning. For National Girls and Women in Sports Day, I am taking my "golf tools" to the course. Using them.

I am sharing that faucet so my designer and plumber can work out the logistics.
