Yesterday stayed cloudy and cool. Low 70ºs. Clouds moved in first thing and then got bigger and darker.....
The winds yesterday were wild! Our temperatures warmed to 74º and then slid back down to 66º.

Interesting about Lincoln's beard........
From a letter sent from a young girl, aged eleven, our 16th President changed his image and grew an iconic beard. Her name was Grace Bedell, (November 4, 1848 - November 2, 1936).
On October 15, 1860, a few weeks before Lincoln was elected President of the United States, Grace sent him a letter from Westfield, New York, urging him to grow a beard to improve his appearance. Lincoln responded in a letter on October 19, 1860, making no promises.
What prompted her to make this suggestion? After viewing a picture of candidate Lincoln that her father brought home, she noted his high forehead over his sadly pathetic eyes, the angular lower face with the deep cut lines about his mouth. “As I regarded the picture, I said to my mother, ‘He would look better if he wore whiskers, and I mean to tell him so.’”.
Shortly after this exchange, Lincoln allowed his beard to grow. By the time he began his inaugural journey from Illinois to Washington, DC by train, he had a full beard. The trip took him through the state of New York, and included a stop in Bedell’s hometown of Westfield, New York, where thousands gathered to meet the president-elect. There, Lincoln asked to meet Grace Bedell.
Bedell recalled the event some years later in a personal interview. “He climbed down and sat down with me on the edge of the station platform” she said. “Gracie, look at my whiskers. I have been growing them for you”, Lincoln stated. “Then he kissed me. I never saw him again”.
Freezer Friendly Everything Bagel Biscuit Bombs

5 eggs
1 T. butter
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup fully cooked original frozen pork sausage crumbles, thawed (from 9.6oz bag)
1 can Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers refrigerated Buttermilk biscuits
1 T. water
1 1/2 t. "everything bagel seasoning blend" *recipe below
Heat oven to 350º. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
In bowl, add 4 of the eggs and beat well.
In 10" nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium heat, tilt pan to coat. Pour beaten eggs in and cook 1/2-2 1/2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until eggs are firm but still moist. Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted. Add sausage crumbles, stir mixture well, cool 5 minutes.
Separate dough into 8 biscuits, let stand 5 minutes. Gently pull biscuits apart, leaving bottom and lower sides intact, forming a deep pocket. Place 1/4 of the egg mixture inside, pressing inside to fit. Gently stretch dough over filling, pressing and firmly sealing around the edges of the biscuit. reshape into round, and place on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining biscuits.
In small bowl, add remaining egg and the water. Beat well with whisk. Brush egg wash mixture on top of each biscuit. Sprinkle tops of biscuits evenly with bagel seasoning.
Bake 18-22 minutes, or until biscuit tops are golden brown and inside mixture is heated through. Serve immediately or transfer to cooling rack, refrigerate until cool, about 45 minutes, freeze for later use.
To freeze and reheat: wrap each cooled biscuit tightly in plastic wrap and a layer of foil. Transfer to resealable food-storage freezer bag, and place in freezer. To reheat, remove one biscuit, unwrap completely, wrap in paper towel, place on microwave plate, microwave on medium-low 1 minute, microwave on high 1- 1 1/2 minutes. Let stand 1 minute before serving.
**Bagel Seasoning: in small dish mix 2 t. dried chipped onion, 2 t. dried minced garlic, 2 t. poppy seed, 2 t. sesame seed, and 1 t. kosher salt. Good on everything from scrambled eggs to cooked vegetables.
