Interesting about Jack Nicholson....

In 1974, Time magazine researchers learned and informed Nicholson that his "sister" June, was actually his mother. His other "sister" Lorraine, was really his aunt. Of course, Nicholson was shocked and called the event "pretty dramatic", but he wasn't traumatized at all. He felt grateful that it made many things clearer to him, but nothing more. He said "I was pretty well psychologically formed." Both women were already dead at that point, and the actor was 37 years old.
This might be interesting: June, Jack's true mother, was 17 years old, unmarried and uncertain of the father's identity at the time of Nicholson's birth, so her parents agreed to treat Jack as their own child and never reveal to him his true parentage.
Jack Nicholson became a well-known actor and filmmaker, most famous for such works as The Shining, Batman and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Here is a recipe my friend Jeannie (Patterson) was raving about...
Brown Sugar Bacon Bites....

20 slices thick cut bacon
1/2 tsp. Ground fennel
2 tsp ground pepper
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
Cut bacon into 2" pieces and arrange on racks over lined baking sheets. Mix sugar and spices, sprinkle over bacon.  Bake in preheated 400° oven for 25-30 minutes, turning pans halfway through.  Let bacon cool to room temp so sugar hardens.
Hint.... put the sugar mixture in a zip lock and shake the pieces to coat both sides.  Keep an eye on the time, oven temps do vary.  Enjoy.

Preheat oven to 400°. Line two rimmed baking sheets with foil and set a wire rack in each. Arrange bacon on racks in a single layer (some overlapping is okay).
Mix brown sugar, pepper, and fennel and sprinkle over bacon. Bake until bacon is crisp, 25 to 30 minutes, rotating pans halfway through.
Let bacon cool to warm room temperature so sugar will harden. Arrange the pieces in an airy heap in small bowls.

GOOD overcast morning.

I look forward to trying the brown sugar bacon bites- I haven't ever tried with fennel seasoning. Perhaps that is the magic missing in previous tries.

LOVE potstickers.

Blessed with elegant posture and a great speaking voice, current images of Michael York disappeared circa 2013, the year he announced he has amyloidosis, which is disfiguring. In 2012, he spoke to the National Press Association about his successful treatment with stem cell therapy. That was uplifting- thank you for the inspiration for a little side adventure in morning research.

Blessings to you.
