Snow ~ Weather Predictions ~ Picture of the Day ~ "Punny" Puns ~ PB&J Monkey Bread ~ National Tempura Day

Good 35º dark foggy morning.

When it got light enough yesterday, about 7:45 I saw the snow coming down and sticking!!! OMGOSH. Been awhile since we've had snow.

It had stopped snowing in Grants Pass earlier and was just raining.... you can see some snow on the roof tops...

We stayed at 34º until 11am when the snow stopped falling... then it would rain a bit and then the snow flakes would be coming down again.. rain, snow, rain, snow....... and the temp rose to 36º.

Just a few seconds each video of the snowflakes falling...
What I like about it when it snows here, and it's been for the last 20 years, the snow never gets to the point of shoveling it or putting chains on your vehicle tires. It never lasts long and never deep.

Predictions for the rest of the week....

Picture of the Day

"Punny" shared by Dave Clark (LASD ret.).... made me laugh!
  PUNS FOR EDUCATED MINDS . . .

The fattest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Circumference.
He acquired his size from too much pi.

I thought I saw an eye-doctor on an Alaskan island, but it
turned out to be an optical Aleutian.

She was only a whiskey-maker, but he loved her still.

A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class,
because it was a weapon of math disruption

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

A dog gave birth to puppies near the road and was cited for littering.

A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in
    Linoleum Blownapart.

On January 7, enjoy a Japanese dish made up of either seafood or vegetables that are battered and deep-fried. Make sure the batter is the right kind for National Tempura Day!
  • Portuguese Jesuit missionaries introduced the recipe for tempura to Japan during the sixteenth century (around 1549).  It is believed that Portuguese Jesuit Tokugawa Isyasu, founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan, loved tempura.
  • Since the Genroku era (September 1688 – March 1704) tempura was originally a very popular food that was eaten at street vendors called ‘yatai’.
  • Today, chefs all over the world include tempura dishes on their menus using a wide variety of different batters and ingredients including the nontraditional broccoli, zucchini and asparagus as well as dry fruits.
  • Some meats, usually chicken and cheeses, particularly mozzarella are known to be served tempura-style in some American restaurants.
  • For sushi lovers, a more recent variation of tempura sushi has the entire pieces of sushi being dipped in batter and tempura-fried.

I made the cheese biscuits for dinner last night that you had on your blog yesterday. Sadly I didn't have the green chilis to put in. So I put a tad of olive oil and lots of cheese. They were wonderful with the pot roast and everyone gobbled them up right way.
