Good 33º dark cloudy morning.

 

 

Yesterday we got cloudy....

 By noon we were still at only 37º. We topped at 45º. 

 

Normally I have a cup of hot tea first thing in the morning, then a cup of coffee with breakfast. It was so cold I drank hot coffee and tea all day! This is that time of year that I put my clothes I am going to wear into the dryer, to warm them up prior to putting them on!

Interesting about the Pentagon...

 

 

The picture is 'The Pentagon', headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. Construction of the building commenced on September 11, 1941 and was completed on January, 15, 1943. In 2017 currency, the total cost of construction was $1.38 billion.

The Pentagon is the world's largest office building, with about 6,500,000 square feet (600,000 m2) of space, with more than half of that space used for offices. Working inside are approximately 23,000 military and civilian employees and about 3,000 non-defense suppport personnel work. The Pentagon has 5 sides, five floors above ground, 2 basement levels, and 5 ring corridors on each floor.

Sixty years to the day after construction began, on September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and flown into the western side of the building, killing 189 people- 59 victims on board the plane along with the 5 perpetrators and 125 victims in the building. It was the first significant attack on Washington's governmental facilities since the city was burned by the British during the War of 1812.

This recipe from pal Suzanne Santisteven (LASD ret and cat mom to Barney) about 23 years ago when we were doing a recipe swap.... I posted it last year, but it's good and some of you need to try it!

 

Broccoli Cheese Casserole

 

2 cans cream of celery soup

2 cups white or orange shredded Cheddar cheese

4 eggs, beaten

3/4 cup milk

4 T chopped onion

approximately 2 heads of fresh broccoli florets

Ritz crackers

4-5 pats butter

 

All all the ingredients except the broccoli to a saucepan and heat until cheese is melted. Arrange broccoli in an 11x14 baking dish and pour the cheese mixture over the broccoli. Top with crushed Ritz crackers and butter.

Bake 350º for 40 minutes

His life was crazy! Amazing he's still alive after all he's gone through, even being kicked out of the house by his dad at age 15. Quite a strange life!

 

Later dinner was Schwans Cod Nuggets, tartar sauce for dipping, roasted sweet potatoes, wine, and pecan pie for dessert. OINK!

 

Then it was chair, wine,

 

, and TV. So unhappy with the programs that are on now, so I watch a lot of the Family Feud and see if I can answer all the questions. Not easy, since the answers originally given by a bunch of dummies! LOL.
