OMGOSH, Hilliary Clintoon must have hit a wire!

Interesting .....  2 things.....

The external, or top, layer of human skin is the epidermis. This layer sheds itself, one skin cell at a time, through the process of exfoliation, completely replacing the old layer with a new one about every 27 days. The deeper layers of skin tissue beneath the epidermis don't participate in exfoliation. Scars usually form in the deeper layers of the skin and because these layers are not replaced, the scars remain. Tattoo ink will typically affect the epidermis and the layer beneath (the dermis), and thus does not disappear with the body's natural shedding of the outer skin layer.

(Portland and Mt. Hood in the background)

Portland, Oregon's founders were two settlers from New England: Asa Lovejoy of Massachusetts and Francis Pettygrove of Maine. Both men wanted to name the new port city after their respective home cities—Lovejoy for Boston and Pettygrove for Portland, Maine. This controversy was settled with a coin toss which Pettygrove won in a series of two out of three tosses, thereby providing Portland with its namesake. The coin used for this decision, now known as the Portland Penny, is on display in the headquarters of the Oregon Historical Society.

Lookin' for an easy casserole recipe with ground beef? Well, look no further, 'cause Veggie Beef Casserole is a real crowd-pleaser! Like the name says, you're in for some veggie and beef goodness topped with a bit of cheese. This casserole mixes up in a snap and will vanish just as quickly!

  • 8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 pounds ground round
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
  • 2 (10-3/4-ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 375º. Coat a 9-x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  3. Cook beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until it crumbles and is no longer pink; drain and return to skillet. Add the remaining ingredients, except the cheese, and heat until bubbly.

  4. Add the macaroni to the mixture and mix well. Spoon mixture into baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, 20-25 minutes or until heated through.

If you are a coffee lover and a lover of ice cream, then this is the food holiday you look forward to every year.  National Coffee Ice Cream Day is observed annually on September 6th.
This creamy and caffeinated ice cream treat is sure to satisfy your taste buds.  There are those that are not a fan of cold coffee. However, when it is whipped with cream and sugar, it takes on a magical taste of its own.
Coffee ice cream has been around for many years.  In 1869, coffee ice cream was used in a parfait and a recipe appeared in a 1919 cookbook for an Egg Coffee, consisting of cream, crushed ice and coffee syrup.
According to Foodtimeline.org, coffee ice cream has been a standard flavor on the Howard Johnson’s restaurant menu since at least the 1960′s, along with vanilla, chocolate, banana, macaroon, and coconut.

Wow on the exfoliation info. It explains why once a month exfoliations keep my face and feet presentable- and why when I skip a month- it shows.

I do like Portland- though my conservative leanings might not sit well with the neighbors.

Your one-dish casseroles are looking better and better now that this is a one-person household.

I'm out of milk. Maybe for the second cup of coffee I'll stir a dollop of ice cream in.
