Good 43º wispy clouds morning.
Yesterday was clear and warm. By afternoon we were in the 90ºs. Topped at 99º.
The sun does not peek over the top of the mountain now until after 8am! Actually it's 8:12am when it crests the mountain. Everyday it will be later now...
It hits on Fielder Mountain at the top....
And also on some tall trees ....
Dude was out checking out the noises from down at the neighbor's...
Bruiser was out on a "looking for birds" walk....

An egg and one of these for breakfast!
I had a Sausage Egg Cheese Croissant yesterday for breakfast, and a piece of Key Lime Pie.
The croissant was good, spicy with sage sausage. YUMMMMMMM. A quick little breakfast for on the run.....croissant with an egg patty, cheddar cheese, and sausage. Take from freezer and cook the egg and sausage part 50 seconds in the microwave, then place on croissant and cook 1 more minute.
Yesterday was another day of "cleaning out stuff" I don't need. I have a stack of cookbooks that I will take to the senior center thrift store.

Charlotte's Web is a children's novel by American author E. B. White and illustrated by Garth Williams; it was published on October 15, 1952, by Harper & Brothers. The novel tells the story of a livestock pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur (such as "Some Pig") in her web in order to persuade the farmer to let him live.
Written in White's dry, low-key manner, Charlotte's Web is considered a classic of children's literature, enjoyable to adults as well as children. The description of the experience of swinging on a rope swing at the farm is an often cited example of rhythm in writing, as the pace of the sentences reflects the motion of the swing. In 2000, Publishers Weekly listed the book as the best-selling children's paperback of all time.
Charlotte's Web was adapted into an animated feature by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Sagittarius Productions in 1973. Paramount released a direct-to-video sequel, Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure, in the U.S. in 2003 (Universal released the film internationally). A live-action film version of E. B. White's original story was released in 2006.

You like mashed potatoes? Then, how about this yummy version...
5 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2 T. minced onion
2 eggs
2 T. all purpose flour
2 T. chopped fresh parsely
salt and pepper to taste
1 2.8oz can French-fried onions, coarsely chopped
Preheat oven to 325º. Coat a 2 quart casserole dish with cooking spray.
Place potatoes in soup pot, add just enough water to cover, bring to boil over high heat. Reduce to medium heat and cook 12-15 minutes, until fork tender. Drain.
In large bowl with and electric beater on medium speed, beat potatoes and cream cheese until smooth. Add onion, eggs, flour, parsley, salt and pepper. Beat until well blended.
Spoon potato mixture into casserole dish. Sprinkle with French-fried onions, and bake 35-40 minutes, until heated through and edges are golden.

Across the country, folks enjoy a tall, frosty glass on National Chocolate Milk Day which is observed annually on September 27.
Invented by Hans Sloane in the late 1680s, today chocolate milk can be purchased premixed or it can be made at home with either cocoa powder and a sweetener or with melted chocolate, chocolate syrup or chocolate milk mix.
While Sloane was in Jamaica, he encountered a beverage the locals drank made with cocoa mixed with water. After trying it, he reported the flavor to be nauseating. After some experimentation, Sloane found a way to mix the cocoa with milk to make it more pleasant tasting. He brought the chocolate recipe back with him upon his return to England. Now people enjoy this delicious drink every day.
