Less Smoke ~ Twenty Years Ago ~ 9 Volt Battery ~ Picture of the Day ~ Easy Peach Cake ~ New LE Stats ~ Three's A Crowd Game Show 1979 ~ Schwans Order ~ National Raspberry Cream Pie Day

Good 53º high cloud and smoke cover dark morning.
Yesterday the smoke wasn't as bad for awhile. Just a high haze and I could see my mountain!!

Then some clouds appeared and we actually saw blue sky for 10 minutes!!

We heated to 98º but the smoke came in and blocked the sun and temps dropped.
Twenty years ago today we moved into this house in Oregon.

I had lived in my parents house in El Sereno for 19 years

, spent the next 6 years in various places.... Alhambra, Paramount, Sacramento, then Temple city 27 years

, and here.....

Interesting.... one of the strange things you never see the inside of...shared by Wilsonite Greg Lundell....
The inside of a 9 volt battery contains 6 AAAA batteries taped together!

Picture of the Day
Hey baby, don't leave!
Easy Peach Cake is filled with the flavors of summer! Just one bite of this cake is all that you need to to fall in love with juicy peaches that are baked into this southern classic. From Mr. Food Test Kitchen.

  • 1 (15.25-ounce) package butter-flavored yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 (21-ounce) container peach pie filling
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 350º. Coat a 9- x 13- inch baking pan with cooking spray, set aside. Or use a bundt pan. (I would)

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.

  3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly and serve warm, or when cool, cover until ready to serve
