Good 56º smokey can't see my mountain (again) morning. The smoke hung low to the ground yesterday, as the day before, and we topped temperature wise at 101º. Friends up in Idaho said it go to 103º there. The smoke cover keeps the sun from coming through here as much.
This picture I took off the screen of my computer as I was playing a DVD sent to me by Andy Greenberg.
In 1979 Jerry and I and a Temple Station secretary, Beverly Petty, were on a game show called Three's A Crowd. The wives and secretaries were secreted in a back room while the husbands were asked questions.... about their secretary and wife. Then the secretaries came out and tried to come up with the same answers the husbands gave. Then the wives turn. The secretaries got more correct answers than the wives and the three of them split $1000.
Andy, who also had been on the show, had looked me up and found my phone and called me to confirm my address so he could send me the DVD of the show. It was filmed by a friend of his and he had it transferred to DVD.
One question was "If your husband's secretary seduced him and then came to work the next day, would he fire her or give her a raise?" All the husbands said "give her a raise" and so did the secretaries and so did two of the wives. I said "fire her, especially if I found out!" Anyway, it was fun and seeing this after all these years blew me away!

Interesting
Gerald Ford was appointed Vice President when Spiro Agnew resigned. Ford became President when President Nixon resigned. Ford was never elected as President or Vice President. The only one!
Nelson Rockefeller was appointed Vice President to replace Ford. He and Ford are the only two Vice Presidents who were not elected to that office.
The other U.S. Presidents who were never elected President were John Tyler, Millard Filmore, Andres Johnson, and Chester A. Arthur. The were the first four elected Vice Presidents to assume the Presidency upon the death of the President.
This is and interesting read about President Ford, born Leslie Lynch King Jr! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ford

Yesterday was a very sad day for my friend Jennifer Murphy. Her dog Heaven, a Livestock Guardian Dog, had to be put to sleep. Heaven was a sweetheart and suffered with diabetes. Her quality of life was not good anymore.
Here is Jennifer with Heaven and Keeper in 2014^
And it was a year ago today that her cat Bridey passed away.
I am happy Jennifer has Mike with her to help the emotional pain. God Bless Heaven and Bridey.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

The most popular campfire treat is recognized each year on August 10th during National S’mores Day. This delicious, gooey treat is loved by millions across the United States.
S’mores consists of a roasted marshmallow with a layer of chocolate bar sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
The origin of this tasty snack is credited to the entrepreneur Alec Barnum. However, the first recorded version of the recipe can be found in the 1927 publication of Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts. Even though the Girl Scouts were not the first ones to make s’mores, Girl Scout groups describe them in their reports as early as 1925. Earlier recipes used the name “Some Mores”. It is unclear when the name was shortened to “S’mores”.
Today there are many variations on the original s’more. Try spreading peanut butter on the graham crackers before adding the other ingredients. Substitute peanut butter cups in place of the chocolate bar. Replace the graham crackers with fudge-dipped cookies.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Here is a S’more Bar recipe for you to make, enjoy and share with your friends and family. How many different ways can you make a s’more?

AWWW So sad about Heaven but you know that's where he/she is right now.
Love the looks of that lo-mein. I just may have to try it. :)
How cute you and Jerry were in that photo. Hey, my answer would have been the same as yours! Reminded me of the time John and I were on the "Marriage Game" on a cruise ship. We won out of the other two couples.
I met Rhonda Fleming at a National Republican Women, Fed. convention in Palm Springs. She was a speaker and a devout "R".
AWWW My favorite all time duo singers, The Righteous Brothers! I saw them perform in Las Vegas not long before Bobby passed away.
Great blog!
