There are about 6,000 languages actively spoken around the world. While different conditions affect how much a person actually speaks, a study by the University of Arizona found the average number of words most people speak in a day is 16,000. The study found no significant difference between the number of words spoken by men and women, contrary to some popular myths. The study tracked its participants for an 8-year period, with each subject wearing a device that recorded the number of words spoken every 12.5 minutes while the subject was awake.

Later dinner was some of that macaroni salad I made (on blog 7-18) and slices of an Omaha Steaks Boneless Smoked Ham... These hams are so good, perfect size .. not huge, and so tasty. Great in a sandwich, with eggs in the morning, or just alone cut into pieces.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

On July 24 grab a lime and the salt.  It’s National Tequila Day!
I will have a shot of José Cuervo and toast my Darling! It was his favorite!!!
Made from the blue agave plant, tequila has a deep and storied history. Named after the small town of Tequila in a valley west of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, the spirit was known as mezcal wine about the time the conquistadors came to the continent.
While there are a variety of succulents in Mexico used for several purposes, only one produces the nectar to distill tequila. Blue Agave, raised in the highlands region, grows larger in size and sweeter in aroma and taste. Agave grown in the lowland regions have a more herbaceous fragrance and flavor. In Mexico, legislation protects the manufacture of tequila. The law states tequila is only tequila if it is produced within Jalisco.  The law limits production to regions in the states of Guanajuato, Michoacan, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. However, the same ingredients distilled anywhere else cannot be labeled tequila.
Interestingly, many names we recognize on the labels today were the very first commercial producers of tequila. In fact, Jose’Antonio Cuervo held the first license for manufacturing the favored beverage, courtesy of the King of Spain. He kept a well-known company. Don Cenobio Sauza and Félix López, also producers of tequila, whose businesses continue in some form today.
Equally enjoyed in cocktails such as the margarita or tequila sunrise, a good tequila can be savored like a good whiskey. As a result, savvy drinkers experience the smooth renaissance of Tequila. It’s not the firewater they remember from their youth.

  .•*¨*•♫♪
Well, it's Sunday mornin',
And the sun is shinin' in my
Eye that is open,
And my head is spinnin',
Was the life of the party,
I can't stop grinnin',
I had too much tequila last night.

(Chorus:)
José Cuervo you are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you
with a little salt and lime.
Did I kiss all the cowboys?
Did I shoot out the lights?
Did I dance on the bar?
Did I start any fights?

Now wait a minute,
Things don't look too familiar.
Who is the cowboy who's sleepin' beside me?
Well, he's awfully cute,
But how'd I get his shirt on?
I had too much tequila last night.

(Chorus)

All those little shooters,
How I love to drink them down.
Come on bartender, let's have another round.
Well, the music is playin',
And my spirits are high.
Tomorrow might be painful,
But tonight we're gonna fly.

(Chorus)

José Curervo
You are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime.
Everytime we get together,
I sure have a good time.
You're my friend, you're the best...
Mí Amigo....

(Chorus)

José Cuervo, you are a friend of mine!

Whoa. J-Lo is banging on Sr Citizenship's door. She's catching up!

The zucchini tidbit looks appetizing.

Men and women may speak the same number of words per day, but I wonder if in individual households if there is a variant? Also- is one gender more selective in their hearing or not?

English is still the language of business. We are fortunate to argue the merits of free trade of not in it. The instigating Tea Party which spurred our nation to independence was about free trade. Perhaps today will prove different, but the history of the wealth of this nation, and indeed the World, follows the path cut by the freedom to trade.

It's amazing women and men speak the same amount of words. I think men fake hearing loss though so they don't have to listen!!!LOL xo
